For those who want a great boost in house ranking, you should buy blue treasure machines and put them in your house as is. Inferior materializing it might actually lessen it's value, so avoid that, and likewise, avoid using change materials and superior materials on it.

But remember, the machines are quite expensive, and heavy. You should buy it after you gain a few stat points in strength and a bit in weight-lifting.

Won't that make me a criminal?
there are no penalties when killing people at parties oddly enough
90% true according to the wiki.

Surprisingly, killing certain people doesn't incur karma loss unlike when in town. This is a much more reliable way to collect certain unique character's figures for your museum than waiting for assassination events. It is also a good way to obtain artifacts such as The Begger's Pendant and The Shena's Panty if you're strong enough to defeat the NPC.

Do note, however, that killing tourists or noble childs will still incur a -10 penalty (probably due to the fact that they always drop numerous raw ores).

Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

Town children, citizens and old people are all fair game though. Kill cyberdome citizens if you are looking for guns to sacrifice to the Machine God. After you get a bit stronger you can hunt Mia; Farmers, miners, punks and mercenaries next. Then try Raphael the womanizer, Gwen and Lomias. Then that guy in Yowyn with the crusader helmet.

Sometimes their appearance can be deceiving. Always use * to check who they are and what level they are before attacking.

Before the long break I tried to record what materials can be found in which spots... no conclusive results, as some spots depend heavily on your skills. But you can find casino chips in the the most common material spots.

Yeah.

I just won a party quest for the first time ( just trying to lower fame, I can't think of a goal atm) , and all I did was murder 2 beggars and 2 old people.
Free coin!

Edit: Does 'Pregnant' stack? As in, if you got drank two parasites in two turns, would they spurt within two turns, or is there variation? Between disease and doomy boots, it's hard to get to poison fast enough...

Actually, that's among the list of bugs that I should have fixed with my patch. I didn't test that one in particular, so if someone enterprising wants to test for me, I'd appreciate it. Also, I had no clue coffins were worth so much house rank. o.o

@Wolf Tengu: How'd you win a party time quest without performing any? Or if you did perform, you didn't mention it. I want platinum coins for murdering innocent civilians! xD

Hm, I believe I'll do some livestreaming of Elona if someone's interested. Been ages since I streamed anything, and I'm bored. It's at http://www.livestream.com/Singularity125

I've no idea, i've not been able to replicate it since. Hee.

Trying to get anti disease potions so I can carry things again.

Edit: I finally got one, didn't bother to ID it. It was cursed, now i'm even more diseased.
Extra points for having 12 scrolls of uncurse on me at the time. Yay!

Ouch, that sucks. >.< I'm super paranoid and ID everything before I use it, for that reason.

The RNG loved being put on display last night. At one point I ran through a dungeon and got 2 cure corruption potions: 1 from the chest at the end, and one from a random drop. At another point I was in Noyel, and somebody in there has an attracts monsters item. So there were random monsters and loot piles all over the place. It wasn't without risk, I did almost die a couple different times. But I happened to pick up an unknown potion and IDed it as a Blessed potion of Descent.  :D I know people tend to like unblessed ones better, but at my low level I'd like to have some feats. So I glugged it down. Then I freed Ebon for the lulz and in the ensuing chaos I found a Miracle quality grenade. The bonuses weren't all that spectacular but it does do a bit of nerve damage. Much more fun than the coral shuriken I found before.

Anyways, enough rambling. I looked through the source last night out of curiosity, and found to my dismay that Learning actually has no effect on skill gain rates. Maybe it would be overpowered, but the wiki insisted there was an effect. :( I'm thinking of doing a "Balance Patch" at some point. As is, it looks like Learning only affects bonus points on level up and MP (1 MP per 3 points of Learning).

Huh.

I did the 1st bit of the main quest, and ended up getting 3. All my diseases but the strength one went away. Better than nothing.

Saving up for a museum deed. I'm starting to repeatedly kill some npc's for staches.

Edit: Sorry to post on a dead topic, but an unseen hand just assasinated that 'Whom dwell om Vanity'
So I looted the body.

Doesn't this sword cause things to happen if I use it, or is it just if the NPC used it?
I'm tempted to just to see what goes on. If the sword does do stuffs, should I use it for the lulz, so to speak?

And if it doesn't, hey, free sword.

Yeah, his sword is !!FUN!!.  Any items that have "It causes an end." is (I think I found a rando-artie with it once).

Basically, it has a chance to set the map on fire (burning all the loot!), and summons a crapton of high-level dragons, who are hostile.  Possibly heavy etherwind, too?  Either way, don't swing it around in any place you ever want to visit again, like your house or a town!

I presume you could maybe try it out inconsequentially at the edge of a wilderness map or in the puppy dungeon, though I don't know if the dragons get a turn before or after yours.  You might catch a bad case of dead if it's the former, in which case you might drop sweet equipment forever.

On the Elona forums, there's a long discussion about a possible java port of Elona. Somewhere in that thread people had posted bugfixes to be inserted into the original source code. Since I'd requested access to the code for my own interests, I took the time to incorporate the fixes into a patch. You can find it here: http://elona.squares.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4777&start=150#p29258

It stirred up a surprising amount of excitement over there, honestly. All I did was follow directions. :P
