Actually i'd also been not using that vampiric ability. Which is really good for things with high evade and such at my stage.

Amassing wealth by "dancing" with shopkeepers is fun and profitable, especially if you invest a bit in investing. Such a thing requires a ton of grinding though, and in hindsight, is mostly impractical.

Oh, and I'd been avoiding hunting quests like the plague because the first one I took was high level, and I thought they'd all be like that. *facepalm*

Those are probably untranslated NPCs, whose text are all in Japanese.  If you're encountering them in Moongates, then that's definitely it, though I'm pretty sure all/most things outside of them are translated.

Go slaughter beggars in party quests! They drop gold, and if you keep doing it you will eventually find Dirty Pendant.

My small castle has a dozen of instruments. All of them came from killing bards in Palmia and Lumiest, and after some scrolls of inferior material, two of them are among the best items in my home (rank 1). The best furniture I got was bought though, a maniac food processor.
