I can totally imagine dwarves do that sometimes. In fact, I've already tried to fling my dwarves at sieges like that. Didn't work unfortunally.

I can totally imagine dwarves do that sometimes. In fact, I've already tried to fling my dwarves at sieges like that. Didn't work unfortunally.

The trick is to fling the siege into your fortress.

Might work, but thats just not as awesome as flinging your dwarves at goblins.
Imagine the sight, as 30 fully armed and armored axedwarves come flying out of a hole in the fortress wall.

Screaming like hell and crushing into the goblin frontline like little bearded berserking cannonballs.

I love how it can either sound really cool and serious or the exact opposite depending on how you look at it and I think it fits the dwarf mindset perfectly.  I think I was originally given the name by the RNG but I honestly don't remember.

My current fortress (randomly generated name) is named whiskerbridge. Ironically in an underground cavern I built a bridge across the bottom water-part and there were a bunch of ratmen there.

I got a Fortress call the Bell of Air. I thought it was sort of weird, but I checked the group name and it was The Fresh Prince.
