Oh you like dirty Mongorian band?

Have some more dirty Mongorian folk then. Tho Mamer is decidedly more folky and traditional, still, damn good stuff.
From what I know, this seems like Kazakh, though? It's their alphabet, anyway. Not that I mind, but.

From his facebook page, he seems to be Chinese Kazakh. That song you posted is apparently a traditional Kazakh folk song about being sent off to war far away from home. Don't feel bad, though, I enjoyed it a lot, I think it has a place in this thread on its own.

China seems to have a good scene for the ethnic music of their minorities. I've seen more Inner Mongolian and Chinese Kazakh folk bands than actual Mongolian and Kazakh ones, and it's not like Mongolians-proper are slouches in that department. It looks like the Chinese government is doing something right there.

Zeal&Ardor - Bellator Halli Rha

I've linked them before but it bears repeating, this is such a fresh sound and approach that I can't get enough of it. This song in particular can best be described like a folky pop song that's being possessed and twisted into some bloodthirstly summoning chat and it fucking works brilliantly.

On a side note, about the guy behind it, the whole thing apprently started as a half joke on 4chan where he took suggestions of genre mashups he would do for practice this particular project started as a 'black metal' and 'nigger music' suggestion xD

I have a ticket to see Z&A in April, although the only live video isn't great. Really not sold on the backing vocals. Hopefully it works better in person.

Yeah, it's rarely a smooth transition from a solo studio project to a live band thing. Still, I'd love to see them live just for the heck of it (tho this is true for pretty much any music I listen to, regardless of how well it transitions into live performance)

Z&A sounds surprisingly good, I am quite hooked now.

My favourite Band, Subway To Sally, is finally releasing a couple of songs from their "electronic acoustic" tour.
The newest one Unsterblich is rather amazing, a bizarre mixture of dark folk and heavily distorted electronics.
Compare this to the incredibly hammy original version.

Between The Buried And Me-Colors

I think I'm developing some sort of post-metal condition where regular old metal just isn't enough for my tastes so I gotta find these weird genre fusions to sate the need :V
