I have done nothing worth of ranting. (At least I see I have done nothing worth it.)

And I do not see the point of blocking out trade with everyone to me, then saying "WE JUST WANT PEACE!".
That seems more like "We want you to be weaker when we invade you!"

Actually I was suspecting something like Wood/Stone crafts based on that. (But that would be silly.)
Also John, don't sweat it. They may not approve of you but I will always trade with you.

I did not block anyone from trading with you! Didn't we explicitely authorized the Kobolds to trade with you? I was just underscoring the fact that trade isn't always beneficial, if your trading has bad relation consequences. As I said, the United Provinces are welcome to join our trade network, even if they trade with you.

Actually, I'd trade with you, were it not for that resolution the Diet passed a while ago. And if you're cooperating, I'll try to remove it, giving you access to the whole southern continent trading roads.

I know that you look like you want peace with me. (Only a fool puts full trust in a potential rival.)

But saying that you will piss off one of the most powerful Empires in the world MAY make people less likely to trade with me.

But I would welcome the gesture of peace by removing that trading blockage to me. I would love a chance for more trade.

Edit: Got the basics of Ariani goverment down.

Ya know, that's the best part about being new. No ones quite sure how you'll react to any given situation, so you pretty much have free reign for a brief window of time. Plus I remain uncluttered by past grudges or so forth.

You'll all live to regret this, in short.

Well, the fact that you're alone in your part of the Continent helps. Plus, John really has a innate talent to make ennemies, just look at how it went in both Countries At War games for exemple.

I will admit to a fair amount of lurking before signing up to join Fiefdoms at War. It was..quite marvelous the way he made enemies in that. Truly the work of a master artiste.

And i'm not -that- far away from potential enemies. Taricus is a mere two turns away by boat.

Yup, but two turns means you have time to see coming. You're not easy to invade. Moreover, you can thanks Jhonfalcon, with his secret abilities to make ennemies, he's acting like a threat magnets, attracting menaces away from you.  :P

Such things are always appreciated. And appreciation leads to lucrative trade!

Perhaps in time, but I could still gain the benefit of knowing you were coming because a) you build a ship that can, b) you train troops for that ship.
I wouldn't be certain but it would be time enough to buff my defenses.
Plus, when I move into Northbrand we can always fight over that, cause you'll have Cloud, and ships from there would move nicely into my heartland.

Well, that doesn't matter: in the end we're all going to be threatening/being threatened by several bordering players. Bur Terenos did choose a really good starting location. Combined with his luck at getting Phantom Warrior, he had a great beginning, and I think he's more than safe for the next 5 turns, which is more than can be said for any of us.

Eh, the only problem me and Cript had was starting too close to one another...

Oh aye, I have to say these Phantom Warriors should carry me through a significant part of the early game. Not to disparage War Bears or Fireflies or Yetis or even Zombies though, they're all fine magical units. And then someone will get True Sight and the DREAM IS OVER.

And I chose my spot before we even had a geography map. I totally wanted to pick a more tactical resourcey square.

Or you could go up against Spoon.  His zombies are immune to your phantom warriors anyway because they're mindless.   :D
