I wanted in on the conversation.... Because that is one of the fun parts. Talking to other people.

I'm sorry =/

I'll totally restream it for my graduation from Berkeley, though >_>  If you don't mind waiting a couple of years, I imagine there will be a pretty good audience for a rewatch then.

Dangit, I've had "Asylum" and "Cathedral" stuck in my head since this afternoon. The exact same thing happened when I heard "Belle" for the first time too, and that lasted for about a week. I cannot repel earworms of this magnitude!

I proposed it in the Livestream, but I wanted to second it here; we could totally set up a regular Drama Night, for musicals, plays, and other performances. One that I'd like to share is The Lion in Winter, which is a fantastic story about an aging King Henry, his imprisoned wife Elanor of Aquitaine, and their three sons who vied for the throne. It's got some incredible performances from Katharine Hepburn, Anthony Hopkins, and more, and is full of amazing dialogue and intrigue.

Excerpt 1
Excerpt 2

Run time is about 3 hours, so an intermission would be a must. Still, it's a fantastic piece of drama, with a brilliant film adaptation. What do you guys think?

EDIT: Borked the first link. Fixed!

However, they're gone now.

They'll be back when you least expect them.  I remember an entire final's week when nothing but Belle played on repeat =/

The cute thing is that my friend has the ringtone set to La Cour des Miracles for whenever I call :3

I woke up with a bad Swedish pop song in my head (mainly the lyrics "I have time on my side, making diamonds out of coal; you put a hole in my kevlar soul" ::)). Kinda strange, as I haven't heard or thought about   it in years.

Anyway, I'm all for a regular Drama Night, though I would rather we don't make it one of your American nights as that would make it Drama Dawns for me. While appropriately dramatic, I suppose, I do not now if would be very up for that. Pun severely intended.

Lastly, Vector, was the name of the play what you saved it as above (edit: that is, "Notre-Dame de Paris - spectacle entier"), or something else? I'm thinking about getting it for myself.

For anyone who missed it, the video is saved, should they feel inspired to watch the entire thing some evening.
Can't see it...

Also I am sad I missed this, I forgot it was happening...

Should be saved under "Notre-Dame de Paris - spectacle entier."
I can't see it in the video library thingy? Did you perhaps miss a step? Or am I just missing something?

Ooooh, I'm so glad that you enjoyed it enough to think about buying it, Scriver!

It's called Notre-Dame de Paris, adapted from the novel of the same name, and what you're going to want to buy is the 1999 musical version.  I think I ordered mine from a French Canadian bookstore.

... You're right, the recording doesn't seem to be online.  Hmmm.  I guess I didn't hit save, or something =/

You can watch the whole thing here, though!

I don't know about buying just yet (I haven't checked if it's available somewhere affordable as of now), but I'll definitely keep listening to it. I think I'll tell my brother about it as well.. It's pretty much right up his alley. If nothing else, he'll like it just because it's in French  ;)
Anyway, found two records on Spotify, one "Highlights" album from 1998 and one that seems to be the complete thing from 2005. I missed a big part of the first act, however, so right now I have some catching up to do.

Apparently the book is only 95 cents on a Kindle. Now I only need a Kindle.

Ah, the highlights one has Noa as Esmeralda rather than Helen Segara, and the singers aren't quite as polished.  I listened to the first online and the second from borrowing it off my sophomore-year math teacher, and really I think the latter is quite a bit stronger in terms of unity.  Plus, the second one has the entire libretto!

Also, I like listening to the entire thing, because it flows better >_>

No coat? Oh man, talk about cutting the best parts.

This is true.

Imagine that coat, so gloriously animated... ah, it would have been a wondrous sight.  But no.  Disney thwarts us once again.
