There's a game called Outforce (or Space Pilgrims here in russia). It's the closest the world's ever seen to a Total Annihilation clone, but set in space and employing something like proper physics. Once you build your structures, they can be dragged around by 1-3 Tug ships, depending on the size. The structures continue working during this, which makes for a neat strategy where you pick a debris-clear stretch near your enemy's base, drag some turrets along with tugs, then disengage and steer the tugs clear as the turrets sail into the enemy base on their own momentum. Fun stuff.

On the subject of homeworld 2, anyone know where I can get a copy of it? Google informs me it's abandonware, but I can't find a download of it anywhere.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

Age of Mythology (or the expansion?) had the Atlanteans, whose harvesting unit didn't need to go to the main base, the resources just added to your pool directly. But all your buildings are rooted in place tho.
Kronos can teleport his building around, which is not terribly useful as it's slow, expensive and makes them vulnerable. Oranos has the instra travel towers which are units only and Gaia has that green moss/fungus that prevents others from building near it.

Magic & Mayhem

You controll a Summoner who controlls and summons units to fight for him. No player buildings... just the mage and his minions fighting for mana generating sites (mana does not regenerate automatically) that give mana to the mage if one of his units stand on them.

Quite a fun game imo.

The only place I could find it is in disk form. It's 10 CAD for a 8 year old game, but I think it's worth it considering that you get the manual and hard copy as well.
