Dark Souls: How is the port? And is the game worth it?

Earth 2150: Very good RTS, if a bit dated. AI is a bit lackluster from what I remember, and didn't make use of the underground for one, at least if I remember correctly. Still, it's cheap enough that it's worth it. The campaign is also done in a very refreshing and unique way, check it out.

Dark Souls was ported to the computer because fans wanted it to be. The developers, from what I understand, did so but really didn't have any experience in doing such. The camera in Dark Souls is wonky and the controls are rather bizarre in places (I think the camera controls target locking on, and insert is the ESC menu button). I remember I found a mod that changed the camera and the controls could be rebound.
That said, the gameplay is really nice, it's difficult and punishes mistakes harshly. There's a lot of hidden items to find and the boss fights are all quite challenging. It's not an easy game, but the world and story are really quite impressive.

From my experience with watching my friends play Dark Souls, it's very very worth it.

From my limited experience looking things up on the port, you pretty much need a controller rather than M&K.

Not Steam and it's with the despicable EA Origin, but you can get Battlefield 4 right now for $20.

It's on sale at 50% off at Origin right now here: https://www.origin.com/en-ca/store/buy/battlefield-4/pc-download/base-game/standard-edition-ANW.html

Then you follow these instructions to get another $10 off: http://slickdeals.net/permadeal/107426/ea-origin---battlefield-4-pc-digital-download
Just a heads-up: you won't be able to register the promo code if you're not in the US... or unless you're using a suitable proxy. :)
The Deluxe Edition is also 50% off, making it only an extra $5 for the first DLC pack (and some other tiny bonuses). The Premium Upgrade is another $50 (and is not on sale) - if you plan to buy it, don't bother with the Deluxe Edition, since Premium includes all 5 planned DLCs anyways.

On an unrelated issue, Origin's payment service is failing right now, so you may have to try again later if it starts throwing random errors. Guess Origin doesn't usually get this much traffic!

It just came out. They're really trying to push sales to make up for the problems the game has had. I mean, it crashed for some people when launching the game.

I've heard the performance has improved significantly since beta... but at the cost of stability, resulting in frequent crashes. Win some, lose lots.  ::)

One slight advantage is the 'Great Game Guarantee', which gives you 24hrs to get a full refund if the crashes are too much. Buy it now during the sale, launch it Saturday morning, and if the crashes are too much to handle, refund it for your money back. I'm assuming it still works if you used that $10 promo code...

To the Moon. Yeah, I already did this, but I just wanted to reiterate the immeasurable need you should have to purchase this game.

I need to respond to this - as I think To the Moon is way, way, way overhyped.

As a game, it's non-existent. The actual playing in this game is simple pixel hunting and puzzles, completely unrelated to the story. Which is fine, since it's a story-based game.

But I'm absolutely not okay with the story, nor the story-telling method.

The premise is this (extract from Steam's store page):
Quote
Dr. Rosalene and Dr. Watts have peculiar jobs: They give people another chance to live, all the way from the very beginning... but only in their patients' heads. Due to the severity of the operation, the new life becomes the last thing the patients remember before...
It sounds very interesting, and that's one of the reason I bought it.

However, all the interesting points ended up unexplored... the story touched on the surface and slipped away before doing anything serious.

You can get Battlefield 4 premium at about $30 on Gamersgate right now.

I'm not actually going to buy it myself though. I heard it doesn't play well with Nvidia cards so my 660ti probably won't like it very much. AMD users are apparently perfectly fine.

The way I see it, I'll just get it a few months from now when all the bugs are ironed out and there's some sort of combo package that combines premium with the regular one.

I've got some of those steam trading cards, and my plan is to sell all of them I can until i have enough money to get one game for free. This is the only way I am going to get anything out of this sale, as I am literally broke right now.

Good luck with that, because you'd be lucky to find a trading card even worth ten cents right about now. No one really gives a shit about them and there really isn't any reason to shell out cash for them.

I've managed to sell all of mine that I've posted, you just may have to farm quite a few during downtime. Also, there's always the December giveaway coming up, so you could register for some drawings then and hope you get lucky...

So if baseless speculation is all we have, we might as well treat it like fact.

Yeah, I know. But I've made 63 cents so far. And there's a couple of games on my wishlist on sale for 2.79. So I'm considering it a distant possibility. Worth trying for, at least.

And I don't care about the cards myself.

I've put together a wishlist. No way can I afford to buy everything on it, but I'll watch for flash sales, etc.

Definitely going to buy:
Triple Town (got addicted on Facebook but refuse to give money to the "free to play" social network version)
Windosill (played the demo, it's amazing)
Eufloria (it's Dyson! I still have Dyson on my computer from all those years ago...)

Maybe going to buy:
Monster Loves You
Osmos
MirrorMoon EP
Dear Esther
Musaic Box (played demo, surprisingly good)
Strong Bad Episode 1 (ohhhh the nostalgia)
Puzzle Agent
Half Minute Hero
Time Gentlemen, Please
Dangerous High School Girls in Trouble (not sure whether to think this is awesome or be offended by it)
Critical Mass
Bad Hotel

Thoughts on any of those? Don't know much about most of them other than what's on the Steam pages. Anyone want to warn me away from any of them?

Edit: Just a thought, I was amazed while looking through the list to see how many of the games I own already from Humble Bundle - and to realize how few of them I've actually played. There is such a thing as owning too many games. I think I have an addiction to the simple process of collecting the games, more than actually playing all of them. Also, it's amazing to see how much these games normally cost! I rarely pay more than $6 for a humble bundle, and each of those includes 3-6 games (or more) that normally go for $8+ each.

SBCG4AP? Aw, I've been thinking of getting that for ages. Telltale Games doesn't make very difficult adventure games, but the humours entertaining. I think I got the last in the series free at one point for something, can't remember what.

I don't believe it's on sale at the moment, and I've been looking at it since it came out, but can someone give me the lowdown on "E.Y.E Divine Cybermancy"? It seems like it has some interesting mechanics with the different class skills, allowing for multiple solutions to objectives.
