(and then forcing you to kill yourself because the script says so)

You'd think I would remember something like that happening, but no. I don't recall FO3 ever forcing me to kill myself.

Yeah Neonivek nailed it. The original ending was "That radiation chamber is gonna kill you! But Thou Must!" and all your radiation-immune party members would say something like "No, my child, you have a DESTINY!", or you told Brotherhood Blondie to do it.

The Broken steel made it less stupid, but you had to pay for less stupid and a better final level, so take that for what you will. ;)

And then, they will be weaponized. Like everything in this game, from kittens to babies, everything is a potential device of murder.
So if baseless speculation is all we have, we might as well treat it like fact.

I still hate love how shoehorned the original ending was. Fawkes, sure, I could see him having some sort of 'mystic feeling' that you had to be the one. Charon, on the other hand, is literally unable to not follow the orders of whoever holds his contract. And he's immune to radiation. You aren't allowed to order your radiation-immune, 100% loyal follower to perform what would be, for him, a completely safe operation... and must instead kill yourself.

Gee, thanks game.  ::)

One thing New Vegas didn't have is Dogmeat. Sure Rex is a robo-dog and that's cool but he's not Dogmeat. What sort of fallout game doesn't have Dogmeat? Just pull something out of your ass and get Dogmeat to Nevada dammit.

I like saying Dogmeat if you haven't noticed.

I'm starting to think that the whole Fallout 3 versus Fallout NV (spoiler, NV wins) is better suited to it's own topic. There's a whole sale going on and were basically focusing on one and a half games. I know I bought it up but I didn't quite expect the debate.

I noticed Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons is 50% off. TotalBiscuit and a bunch of other critics seemed to have nothing but praise. Anyone played it?

Mercenary Kings is on sale. It looks pretty interesting, I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with it?

Cthulhu Saves the World is on sale for $0.99 as a part of the Halloween sale.
I'd recommend it, for that price it's great. Also you get a bonus game for the price, another RPG called Breath of Death VII.

------

So anyway, Spelunky is on sale at 50% off for midweek madness. Worth it? From what I've seen of Spelunky, I'd probably wanna get it. Seems like a fun platformer.

Spelunky is awesome. It took me 24 hours to beat it. not in one go of course :P. Still playing it after 36 hours so I'd say there is a lot of replayability.

I like the game but I'm absolutely terrible at it. The original spelunky is free http://spelunkyworld.com/original.html

The version that is on Steam is just an updated version with nicer graphics and more features/levels/enemies. They play very similarly so if you like the original then you will probably like the version on Steam.

Heck, mutants may be immune, but Ghouls LOVE radiation, it heals them and makes them all happy and glowy! Charon should be *begging* you to get into the chamber!

In some manner of speaking. While Ghouls like radiation and Mutants are immune, this idea only goes so far and we don't know to what extent story wise.

I always thought that if you exposed ghouls to enough radiation, that it would kill them anyway. The Same with Mutants.

Heck I think some Feral Ghouls were created because of their "too great" dose of radiation.

Pretty sure there's a Zero Punctuation of it and I saw GameGrumps play the beginning. Apparently it's interesting, but the controls definitely take some getting used to (similar to patting your head and rubbing your stomach) and the story can rankle on you if you're Yahtzee. I think it's also pretty short, so there's probably something like 80% approval rating? Aaaaaaaaand Metacritic says 91.

I don't think I saw anyone mention this but now Fallout: NV ultimate edition is like 4.99, whether or not it's worth it is up to you guys. But I should warn you the ending is like Fallout 3 minus the fact there is no expansion that will allow you to continue afterwards.
Nevermind just saw Scrdest's post. Anyway is Operation Raccoon City worth it? I'm considering buying it.

No, no it is not. I'd elaborate but I have to do something quick.
