It didn't start huge, so apologies if there was any oversight on my part regarding its eventual voluptuousness.  It doesn't really have so much textual spare flesh that it could handle a crash diet of some kind, to my mind, but YMMV.

I'll see how I can perhaps split it up, in a moment, although as the basic structure is that "as I thought of 9/11, in various ways, here I also think of Japan's current situation, in equivalent ways", it's probably going to have to be spoilered on-block if that's the only thing I can do with it.  Splitting and collating it back together in an interleaved manner might work, I suppose, each section separately spoilered.  I'll toy with that.

(But I could ask "how spoilering that help?"  People are going to open the spoiler anyway and find it huge.  Even if I preface with "huge lot of text".  And while it has not been honed to newspaper standards, neither is it so gargantuan that it deserves it's own Postal(/ZIP) Code.)

Not that it matters to those already past that point, but I decided to quantify and qualify it so nobody who now sees the spoiler warning feels cheated.  Whether or not they peeked into it.

(I did try out the quick re-shuffle edit I mentioned, but it actually got a bit longer when I did that for various reasons, and thought that spending the next half-hour paring it back to the bone again would be counter-productive.)

That's why people are always seen with at least face-masks in this sort of environment. The dust is much deadlier than the radiation itself.

Also, as cool as that outfit is, Newsmuffin, perhaps I could suggest you wear plastic instead of that soft Cotton-y stuff. That hoodie will soak up dust, toxins, and general rads more than anything I can think of!
