Profuse Bleeding
« on: March 10, 2011, 03:34:40 pm »

My good Fish Dissector, Reg Oilgates, seems to be bleeding all over the place spontaneously.
He's bled by the wagon, in the barracks, everywhere inside the fortress, and in my mayor's chambers.

He has no wounds (on both the V screen and the Z-health screen) and hasn't requested a diagnosis.

I don't know whether to figure out a way to get him diagnosed in case there's a wound I'm not seeing, or just to mark it off as him sweating blood.

Can your starting dwarves have a history before embark? I mean, maybe he had Iron Man Cough(or not...no problems with health)

It's treated as completely normal because this is Dwarf Fortress.  There's absolutely nothing wrong with surrounding yourself with a wall of flames, only to later realize that you're surrounded by a wall of flames.
There's nothing that can't be solved by hurling fifteen roc birds at it.

Has his fat been melted? If not, I think he might be a reincarnation of Jesus Christ Amrok.

Reg didn't come with me on Embark. o_O
He, as well as all the other dwarves, don't seem to mind that he's a genuine blood fountain, so I guess the most I can do is laugh. :P

Have you had a FB encounter? This could be a FB syndrome.

I have seen this happen too and have never been able to figure it out.

I've had this once happen to me too, except the creepy part of it was the blood never belonged to any dwarf or animal in the fortress, nor to any invaders that I've checked up on.

Then those Sex Ed classes weren't all for nothing!

On-topic, you could (if this is a nuisance) try forcing Reg to have a minor accident, resulting in hospital treatment that may cure the invisible ailment.

Yours was only the eighth reply.

I am trying to make chickens lay bees as eggs. So far it only produces a single "Tame Small Creature" when a hen lays bees.
Honestly at the time, I didn't see what could go wrong with crowding 80 military Dwarves into a small room with a necromancer for the purpose of making bacon.

If Reg have a minor accident with magma... this may cauterize the bleeding. And the dwarf.
