Heh heh, oops. We're bad about sleeping when we need to. :P

Anyway, have you tried enslaving the broom instead? I realize that's probably a stupid idea, but it'd be nice to have a pet broom, automatically cleaning up everywhere.

Also I'm busy with stuff and there's no way back up. But, I'll come try to roast it and get at the treasures within at some point, if the vine ladder works and nobody else gets it and I'm not right in the middle of anything.

In the meantime...

After much scheming, Shigon had finally made up his mind. He'd tunnel out the basics first, while preparing for the more glorious future ahead. He decided on what he considered a modest workshop; there'd be little to fill it with anyway, so there was no need to make it terribly impressive.

His next project, probably, would be a communal sleeping area. Seeing Rargh make a doghouse for his hellhound had given him ideas as well, but for now he concentrated on his future study.

1. Sleep

2. Mine

3. Mine

Mining plan is as follows:

Spoiler: SCHEMES! (click to show/hide)

@ is the portal, ~ is water, # is rock, + is floor, green + is intended floor. If you're curious why it looks kinda funny, I'm intending on expanding that hallway to three tiles wide eventually.

The kitchenette mold free, you move on to the pantry. it's nasty in there. The bacon is grazing on the lettuce. The ham is having an illicit affair with the prime rib, The potatoes see all, know all. A rat in boxer shorts smoking a foul smelling cigar is banging on a cabinet shouting about rent money.

Good idea Irony, I edited it in.

Also, if you plan on making that bigger, you should put the bend down one.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Otherwise the tunnel will come out in the side of the room.

Nah, the tunnel will be expanded two down, not on on each side. The vertical tunnel will be expanded two to the right, also.

@ Ochita -

I can raise another skeleton, and train him to be a beast tamer, and then he can breed the bettles non stop.

That really sounds like it has no hope at all of ever working.

On the other hand getting the beetles to breed the first time had no hope at all ever ever working. So who am I to talk?

Aren't skeletons mindless? You would need an imp or something...

Yes, but you can give them simple tasks to follow.

Oh. So beast taming is simple then... I don't think so, and the fact that its undead should freak out quite a large amount of animals.

They are giant beetles with a minotaur, and a flaming hound for masters a pile of bones isn't much freakier
