Just checked it, does not take wood or metal barrels, of pots and jugs (glazed or not) when you try to make mead. Disappointing, I figured I needed metal barrels for mead when it said non-absorbent barrel so I've been hammering away at my bee hives.

Also, eggs are counting as multiple ingredients for meals (lavish meals from 1 stack of eggs and 1 stack of something else), and they don't multiply to compensate (two stacks of 8 eggs each still only gives a 16 stack roast). They also count towards a lot more clutter than their actual number.
I believe this has to do with the fact eggs have sub parts of yolk, white, and shell. Dwarf carries a stack of eggs and thinks "Hey, I'm carrying three ingredient stacks here", while the actual reaction just uses the eggs as single items.
Other ingredients get used as normal for meals, 2 stacks of mussels and 2 jugs of honey made a nice roast.

I think it's a little more complex than that, as I tried making egg whites/yolks heavier and it didn't make prepared meals heavier, and "easy" meals still require two stacks of eggs.

For one, bees are supposed to disappear when a beehive is deconstructed. It wasn't until relatively recent that apiary techniques were refined to the point of... (Boringness unless you really love bees.)
 
Secondly, I had this same problem, and I realized that in the raws, 'reaction_other', it says that one of the components of making mead was honey, but seems to imply that it requires 150 honey. While I haven't regenned a new world after changing it to 1, I assume that that would explain the whole problem.

I brought along a yak bull and cow for some extra fun.

For some reason, my dwarfs brought along 2 of each, even though I only specified one.

I just realized I was missing my caravan animal, perhaps the caravan can use two and it's just a coincidence that both happened to be copies of animals I ordered from embark.

Drake corpses won't be butchered or rot. They just sit there.
