Try out that fact. Make a battle between an all calvary force vs. an all archer force. See how quickly the archers are raped.

The truth is, archers suck in close combat, not to forget that in real life, it would take 10 ro 15 arrows to kill some one.

Arrows are downplayed in alot of things, but they are fucking dangerous in the right hands, even if an arrow didn't kill someone immediately infection killed them eventuilly most of the time.

Back in those days, it was. Most illnesses were treated by needless amputation, nice smelling incense, or drilling a hole in the skull.

Because everybody in the past was a huge idiot?  When I was six and I cut myself, I figured out that I wanted to wash the wound to get the blood off myself.  I'm pretty sure that somebody in ancient times was capable of making that same leap of intuition.  Even if you don't know what microbes are, it's pretty easy to figure out that dirty wounds fester.

I think the 10 to 15 arrow thing may come from the fact that it might take you awhile to hit small pockets of enemies.
