Yeah. When was I promoted, and what is my current rank then?

I'll chill at strike base. Also, how many scientists do you have right now? If you've less than 100, fix that. And for new/larger ships, send the team from research base, so you don't need to spend a day waiting for the new stuff to transport.

So it seems I accidentally put my canteen in my wheelbarrow and didn't notice... and then I got really thirsty... so right before going to sleep I go to take a swig from my canteen and... end up snorting a line of low-grade meth.

Bread, currently at 100 scientists for a decent research rate. I don't know when you were promoted exactly, but you're a seargant

Commander Griffin
The new batch of soldiers have arrived, and work has finally begun on an amazing fighter ship that will surely destroy any UFO it comes across. Research seems to be picking up lately, and they've even developed some sort of personal armour with the technology they used to create the ship hull. It seemed great until they showed me the cost and build time. We certainly can't afford that, especially with my wonderful ship being built! Instead, I ordered more recruits. Same effect, lower price, especially when I tell them my plan to replace our transport ship with somethings thats similiar but can carry a lot more warm bodies! We've also begun construction of a new manufacturing and strike base just outside Singapore - it will produce state of the art aircraft for us, since I have realized that trashing my current planes to give the engineers room to work was not the best idea, on account of how it takes two of them to down an enemy UFO.

In other news, those bastards sent me another tank, the BRO MK III, but the things are obviously pieces of crap, so it can sit in the base and guard it from lizards or whatever lives out there in Finland.

You know, thinking of it... I've never actually spent any time topside. I've just been working nonstop since I got here. And I think I deserve a break. This shit is stressful. Vacation time, wooh!

Captain Tarran, Log 9
Griffin has been feeling ill lately, and retreated to his room with mono and said no one should bother him for two weeks. As such, he has given me command over this mission. And an unfortunate mission it is - The aliens have touched down in Singapore, launching a Terror strike not 50 miles from where our new base is under construction. Do they suspect? Are they attempting to send us a warning?

If so, I think we'll have to return it.

We landed in the darkness of the city, plasma bolts searing the night sky in the distance, the blast of energy weapons and screams of civilians filling the night air.We led with a smoke bomb, and followed with flares outside of its edge. Lucky led, carefully, with one of the new recruits by her side - until a hail of gunfire from behind the ship brought him down. Lucky threw herself down, swearing, as bolts sailed over her head. Quickly, Maxclone and Oruza swung out of the vehicle, spotting two of the by now incredibly familiar floaters. It took combined fire from both their weapons to bring down the first, and myself and one of the greens swung out the other side to take out the other. The plasma didn't take them down easily, but my rockets didn't have the same problem. Of course, I was now fairly exposed - I had the others immediately move out of the ship and set up a perimeter. We spotted a reaper in the shadows, and a rookie quickly took it down.

Another one burst from the darkness, quickly tearing the arm off one of our men. For a moment, I felt pity - I'd never even learned the soldiers name. His partner, standing beside him, immediately opened fire with his autocannon, but his weapon couldn't bring it down. Banshee, however, quickly lobbed a few shots over the recruits shoulder and finished the beast off before it could tear another soldier apart.

"What's your name, kid?"
"Ak... Akhier, sir! Prototype Akhier!"
"Errr.. ok, fine, whatever, good shooting, but grab that dropped heavy plasma. This is a way, kid, and no place for obsolete weaponry like that!"
"Yes... yes sir! Right away sir!
However, as he bent down to pick up the weapon, a plasma bolt flew by him killing another soldier. He backed away, whispering something to himself under his breath.

"On second thought kid, just hold back for a second. Whenever you get the chance to do it safely."

Some civilians fled towards us from a nearby warehouse, yelling for help, and out of the corner of my eye I caught one of our own soldiers slipping inside. What the hell was he doing?

Meanwhile...
Haha, tell ME I need to use a gun, will he! Grenades, hah, and nothing but grenades is all I need! And maybe one of these cattleprod things! "Hey Captain I'm gonna check out this warehouse" he whispers, hoping no one heardhim, and slips inside. He quickly lift the lid of one of the boxes and stuff your gun inside. Hah! That will show them!

Now, just gotta listen - hah, sounds like one just outside this door! Toss a grenade into the alley... mmm, I love the smell of burning alien in the morning. How all the little gooey bits explode by an open doorway... magic in motion.

Back to log...
Lucky is going wild on these things! She's pulling flares out with one hand, shooting down aliens with the other. Every time one steps into the light, she shoots the thing before it even has the chance to react. Anything she doesn't finish Codec does.

I decided to go with Oruza and Maxclone to the left, when Maxclone stopped and cocked his head.
"Hold up a bit, why don't we blast through this wall here?"
'Why would we want to..." I started, but he cut my off by blasting through the wall.
"There, and now we can OH MY GOD THERE'S AN ALIEN OUTSIDE THAT WINDOW!"
At which point Max destroyed another wall (rather than shooting through the window I suppose) and gunned the alien down. While I may argue with his rationale, I certainly can't argue with results.
"Anyways, Boss, as I was saying, now we can hang out upstairs and shoot guys through windows. Or walls, whatever."

Behind me, I heard the spit of plasma followed by Akhier yelling "I got one, I got one!" Good to see he was getting his battle legs.

Maxclone went to move into the building, but his shots hadn't gone unnoticed. A shot barely clipped him, burning his shirt but leaving him unharmed, while another alien tried to sneak around the side of the building. I responded by sneaking a rocket into the side of his skull.

We pushed forward a bit more, slowly expanding our perimeter.

Oruza took my left flank, in the a nearby building, which proved to be a fatal mistake - I soon hear his scream of pain.
Maxclone quickly shot a hole in the wall near him, but the enemy was nowhere to be found. Finally, it floated into view. Max leaned around his tree, and went to draw a bead when a grenade sailed by. "Fire in the hole!" yelled Lucky. Max scrambled back inside just before it exploded.

Meanwhile...
Ah, yes, this window will do fine. Codec rested his weapon on the sill, and began picking off the aliens in the courtyard below. One, two, three... easy as.

Back to log...
Unfortunately, it wasn't that easy - the alien survived the blast, and threw back a grenade of his own - the blast easily tore apart the wall Lucky was hiding behind, and she let out a scream of pain. Max didn't miss a beat - he jumped, and finished the creature with two shots to the chest. "Lucky, you alright?" He yelled.

"Yeah, yeah..." she said, coughing up blood. "Gonna need... a hospital stay when I get back to base... but I should be good. Why don't you... get to killing these things... before I bleed out, eh?"

"Actually, Luck, that was the last one." I said, kneeling down beside her and helping her to her feet. "Let's get you home, eh?"

"Heh." She coughed again. "Lucky me, I guess."

Banshee took a couple of shots, injured a reaper, but didn't really accomplish much this mission, sorry.

It's... interesting that the Fragbaits are living up to their name. Well, here's another one. Or, if you're willing, another five. I request a fireteam of MeatshieldTM units. This time VI will introduce himself, and the other Fragbaits if there are others, to Captain Tarran, and cheerfully explain the basic facts to him along with giving him the same package that II tried to give to the Commander.

My idea is that the MeatshieldTM units are either orphans, their minds wiped then filled with combat knowledge, and trained until they turn 18; or repaired and resurrected corpses, usually soldiers, that undergo a similar process after the medical procedures are finished. The company is called amoral for a reason.

Name: Fragbait VI
Position: Soldier
Role: Breacher
Gender: Either is fine, male preferred.
Weaponry: Best loadout for role.
Stat: Bravery.

Ah yes, X-com. If you allow clones paranoia's 6-pack seems small in comparison.

Ah, paranoia. That's actually where I got the "inspiration" for my storyline, as far as the Maxclone thing goes. On that note, I seem to have forgotten to put said storyline into this game. Ah, well, if GlyphGryph requests it, I'll write it up. If not, meh.
