Something of a long delay. An event in another forum needing an immediate response by their Chief and me generally being lazy. This round is now finished. Hopefully next round will go a bit quicker.

Round 11 - Wherein somebody goes to war.

Turn 162 - Production of our mighty army is underway. We have been using the promise of unattended epic socks as a bait to lure our citizens into joining the military. Despite the fact that the socks are mostly made of wood and flax from the forests we are cutting down, our new soldiers don't seem to mind so much. Currently most of them are training.

In other news, a scout from Stickland was seen poking around our border. He is alone and seemingly helpless, but it is worth it to know that our esteemed rivals now know of our location, where they did NOT before.

We see you damnit!

164

Strickland declares war on Saladin.

165
Our Spearman finishes in Boatmurdered. Mass Axe-Spam commences. I've moved the spear to our rally point at Nist Ankah.

167
We finish researching Pottery! We can build granaries to support our whipping and Cottages to boost our research rate!

We begin researching Agriculture. Hayuna has finished Archery.

170
Two chops near Nist Ankah give us enough production to finish a monument this turn. I funnel the overflow into a Barracks for more axe spam.

176
Boatmurdered grew to size 6 and became unhappy. Because we have TWO food resources (giving us a ton of food, incidentally) I chose to whip it rather than waste the population. While it is now size 5 and still unhappy (giving us four workable tiles) it still has maximum production and will grow back to six in about forty turns (once the unhappy goes away it will need eight turns or so to regrow.

180
Nist Ankah grew to size 3. it is now currently working 2 floodplains (3f, 1c) and a copper mine (1f, 5h).

Continue production of axemen as planned. The decision to attack lies in Deus' hands, so I'll just bolster our army in the meantime until he issues the order.

Also, a bit of nitpicking, but Boatmurdered has 11 commerce, not 3. The Palace adds +8 commerce last time I checked.

Another possibly ill-informed commentary from an observer:

Make sure to build a road to Hayuna before you attack.

I just realized, Deus hasn't spoken up in here since about right before we met the Sticklanders. Is he still aware this is going on?

Edit: In fact, he hasn't even been online since the 7th of January. We might want to nominate another Chief, atleast until Deus intends to return.

I will start taking nominations for Chief now. In the interim, the remaining three major leaders will be granted emergency control of the army. Any decisions until we get a new Chief require a 2/3rd's vote to pass.

I'll nominate myself, but I'm going to need a lot of coaching by the other guys on this. I've played CIV, and done quite well in the wars I've got myself into, but my computer crashes at the ~1500 mark, so I don't have much experience later on.

A little spoiler of your turns:

Absolutely no losses so far. We could have taken Cuzco with a single axeman. No joke.

Round 12 - The Bloodless War (Except for our enemies)

184

Despite the protests of some of our citizens that we can build mushroom farms in the safety of our cities, behind out walls and within the depths. We have determined that spreading farms out to multiple underground rivers is more efficient. To this end, we need to find areas with large aquifers and farm there.

187

Finally, after decades of preparation we have amassed an army of eight axe platoons. Our armies now rally at Nist Ankah, ready to strike at the heart of our enemies... the VILE Inca under the rule of Hayuna Capoc.

188

Our worst enemy Hayuna Capoc of the Inca, has ordered his people begin to study the secrets of mining. His methods involve striping away the surface of the land and slowly gleaning out the copper ingots. This vile, ineffeciant process goes against EVERYTHING the dwarven people know of mining. HE MUST BE STOPPED.

Our soldiers now are rallied at Nist ankah. We leave a single warrior in our garrison, while the rest of our amy MARCHES forth for VICTORY!

191

Our soldiers march over the frigid land, fighting the elements as much as the indigenous people as they advance towards the Incan capital. Finally, a respite! Our army found the first marks of Inca habitation in this land! The small outpost was like a dust mote beneath our soldiers, the few guards there no match for the strength and number of our warriors. We overcame their defenses and took many hostages from the work crew, letting only two men to live free.

One, we blinded, so that he may not follow us. Of the other, we cut out his tounge so that he may not speak of us. shackled together we threw them into the forest towards Cuzco with news for the Heretical Hayuna: The Dwarves have come, Surrender, or die.

[we crossed into Incan territory, and captured a worker on the border, good stuff]

192

We get in sight of Cuzco...

uh... now I feel sort of bad for him.

193

Good news, I stopped feeling bad for him. We took the capital with a single axeman (promoted to Cover before the attack). No losses whatsoever.

In other news, I shut off the Axeman valve at our capital and queued up Granaries in Nist Ankah and Boatmurdered. Our workers I assigned to building a road to Cuzco and building cottages on the floodplains near Nist Ankah (feel free to tell me to swap those to farms if you prefer)

194
Joao stopped by and asked for open borders. I told him to shut up and let us finish our war first.

196

We capture and auto-destroy Machu Pichu this turn. The Quecha defending it was no match for an axeman (Promoted Shock before the fight.) The gold is paltry, but the city was worthless anyway. We captured a second worker here as well.

197

We capture Tiwanku and destroy the Incan Civilization this turn. The war is over, we won with virtually no Dwarven casualties.

After capturing the city I garrison most of our soldiers in Tiwanku. This, coupled with the gold generated by Cuzco and the gold we seized from the Inca allowed us to bump our research rate up to 80% with only a -6 gold deficit. Writing should be done before the end of the next turnset.
