[2] [5] [4] Your axe easily cuts through them, [3+3+1] [3+3+1] and you wipe out the remaining herd.
The tunnel is clear of beak dog hatchlings. For now.

SeriousConcentrate:
You head into the tunnel, warily eyeing the trolls.
The tunnel decends steeply, with the angle increasing as you move further in. Eventually, the downward slope becomes a staircase, first straight then spiralling. Hitting bottom takes a few minutes, and you estimate that you are at about the level of the magma sea.
There is only one way to progress, going what you believe to be south. (The spiral staircase messed you up a bit.)

Tarran and MetalSlimeHunt:
With the hatchling assault slackened for the moment, you believe that now is the time for advancement. You hurry out the tunnel, arriving at a large room, the walls carved with sun and double-moon symbols. There does not seem to be any obvious exits, though there are many switches and levers about.

HighEndNoob:
[4] With Gump and Riki having killed the last of them, you let out a sigh of relief.
The other two humans have already made a retreat, so you follow them into a large circular room. It seems to be adorned with traditional Festerguts religious symbols, and is filled with many mechanical widgets.

You fire your crossbow, [6+1+1] [4+1+1] nailing the dog in the eye, killing it!
The whole experience has left you feeling distinctly less guilty about that dog burger you ate when you were a fortress liason.
Dog 2 has died.

Zrk2:
You ponder a convoluted plan involving a bucket, chain, and bridge, but as there are none of these on hand you simply axe the remaining goblin. Goblin slaughter always makes you think more clearly.
[5+1] Your axe easily cleaves through the goblin's armor, [5+1+1] leaving him with a gaping chest wound!
[1] He passes out from the pain!
Armored goblin is experiencing extreme pain, bloodloss, and is unconscious.

Megaman:
With all that pesky "dodging" stuff out of the way, you think now is the time to practice your legendary GOLEM CURBSTOMP.
[1+2] *SQUISH*
Armored Guard has died. Rockman has regained the use of his arm.
