It's not even the "end" of the universe per se, the universe is still there, it's just doing precisely nothing of interest.

It's the end in that it ceases to have any characteristics. Spacial dimensions are irrelevant when the universe is perfectly homogeneous (which as far as I am aware, would be a requirement for it to be in equilibrium), and because space won't change time isn't relevant either. So it exists as much as a thing with no properties can exist.

Not to mention any life would probably be dead due to all the heat and energy in the universe being perfectly spread over an infinitely vast expanse, so the temperature would probably be rather low. Dividing any non infinite qunatity, like the total heat and energy in the universe, by infinity would make an infinitely small decimal that isn't quite zero but practically is for all intents and purposes.

This is fun to hypothesize about.

I mean, we can rephrase that as "as the size of the universe approaches infinity with the energy and heat of the universe staying the same, the temperature will approach zero," but they really mean the exact same thing in the end, so eh, I tolerate both.
