I previously killed two vampires. Drank their blood to become a vampire in hopes of recovering from a leg bite from vampire quest #1. I didn't. I walked around this keep and proceeded to explore their basement, which, of course, had a kobold archer to come up a floor hatch and kick my weak ass. I died. It was really funny, I vomited all over the kobold. :)

A high dodging skill should help. I also suggest a change of strategies like trying more ranged attacks, letting companions distract the titan and sneaking in from behind, or randomly setting fire to the vegetation.

You say that like setting fire to vegetation is not always a good option.

Only vaguely. Made of the same substance and put to the same use, but a bit like comparing a castle and a doublewide trailer.

I accidently burned myself alive when experimenting with bogeyman removal.  !!Science!! had its way...

How do you get infected into a werecreature? Do I need to consume it's blood or just get wounded and survive my encounter with it? This is the first time I've gotten this chance so I'm going for it

You need it to bite you so it draws blood.

Any way to help them along with that option? Does it need to be in beast form also?

It needs to be in beast form. You could wear less armor on one hand or something like that if you want to make the biting part a bit easier.

Why do I seem to die whenever I get ganged up by two vampires or whatnot?

Because that's how DF works. Don't let multiple enemies tag-team you at once. Always move away. And put more focus into defensive skills like dodging and shield use. Armor use only affects how much armor weighs you down, but that's also important and very slow to train, so put some points into that initially.

In real life 2 or 3 tend to beat one.

vamires also theoretically have an eternety to hone.their combat skills.  Most seem easy.enough when the whole village can gang up on them, but 1v1 a fresher adventurer would most likely lose.  I've seen a few that killed the whole hut of 5 or so people they were with like it was hollywood.

If you can practice a bit on smaller game or range them, to level up a.bit.

I want to check put the adventure mode so first thing's first;

What are the drawbacks of playing as a dwarf aside from the trouble getting equipment?

Getting equipment is hard for any non-human not playing with a mod or in a world with an existing fort...

Dwarves die, as in they arent immortal.  There are no special drawbacks excepting the armour thing.  Also a dwarf has martial trance, which kicks ass in a pinch, and you can retire near the future site of a fortress to have him migrate there.

Also with forts, you can abandon one with adamantine gears and have your adventurer get them.

Congratulations, you are now invincible (except to some retarded deaths, of course.)
