EDIT: Forget Blind Santa, apparently I'm already blind. Nevermind.

All right, thought about it a bit more overnight, and I'm game. Just going to add a 'cannot ship overseas' notice to my info PM and I'm good, I think.

Signed up, with the stipulation that I live on a small island in the English Channel, and thus it'll probably be bought online. Amazon and Play.com to deliver here, though, and Play even has a warehouse up the road from me.

In case it's relevant... USPS has a very nice "media rate" for books and such.

Not really.  Whatever I send is going to be light, but it'll probably have to be thrown in a package of one sort or another.  If the postage is above $2, I'm not sure I'll be able to spend the money unnoticed.

Mm, the life of a college student~

(Plus, I don't assume that other people will share my taste in books.  I'd say that my hit rate is 50% with people I know, which is not really acceptable for something like this)

Blarg, I don't even know what I'm gonna send. I thought of sending this glass orb that was used as a float for nets in the 1800's, but then I remembered that it's basically the same as a glass figurine that most people outside of elderly housewives dislike. I'll have to scour my room again for some stuff.

Indeed. I have a neat idea for something to send which I can personalize a little bit depending on the person I get, but it's absolutely going to have to be be hand-made (or at least hand-altered). Most of what I can put aside for this is likely going to go right into postage, low or high as that may be.

When is the deadline?
Few days into December. Haven't had time to look at my calendar yet. That gives you 2 weeks to decide whether you can get on board or not.

Do you all want me to post a list of those involved so that wild speculation hilarity can begin?

I already got more than a dozen responses so the first groups of PMs will be sent out later tonight.

I'm going to wait on learning who I'm Solstice Amigos with, and will try to find inspiration there. Have a few ideas for crafty crap, but we shall see.

This look very interesting, and I would do it if I had the money.

Maybe next year, depending on how many of you turn up on missing persons lists.

Also, Kael, when are you going to be back playing games.

Edit: Also, is that little something going to be a steam game? :P
When I'm no longer a monk :P Oh, I really want to have another go at AI:Wars with all the expansions now.

And probably not, unless Stalker or something similarly awesome is $2 again.

I don't currently have a mailing address to recieve stuff, but I'd like to send stuff anyway. I was sorely tempted to buy knives for people (especially this really cool psuedo-knuckle knife that I'm pretty sure wouldn't be street legal).

Doesn't the Army give you a forwarding address for care packages/Christmas at least?

I would check the legality of shipping knives to your destination when you get your partner however, unless you don't care. Then it's all good.

First batch of Secret PMs sent!

If you signed up early and didn't get one, don't fret, that just meant you were on the other spectrum of the RNG. I still have to send another ten PMs or so.

In case you were wondering, I just used a list randomizer and then took the people in North America and Europe that could not ship abroad and randomised those with others within their continents.

Happy gift hunting!

PS: There's still plenty of time to sign up and get on board if you haven't signed up yet!
