Tried to snipe some deserters, killed one, but the other drove me away long enough for the corpse to despawn, so I couldn't loot him. Ran away from that area, back towards town. Got mauled by a she-bear. Managed to run away from that, right into a pack of wolves. Managed to kill a couple, but the last one finally brought me down.

The plot forced me to get Research, and thus to backtrack to the chemical storeroom on deck 2 to finally research all the alien body parts and mysterious implants I've been picking up.

I was a dummy and forgot about the LabAssistant implant, so it was taking forever to research the thing. I went AFK to let it do that while I ate dinner. A hybrid found me while I was eating and promptly ended my scientific endeavor.

You didn't bother taking even a single point of Research?

Rather useful skill, as researching those mobs grants a permanent 25% bonus to that creature type - plus researching the hybrid organ gives the bonus to all three types.

Strength, Endurance, Standard Weapons and Hacking seemed so much more important at the beginning of the game. Also, I was deluding myself that I could possibly multiclass and get some psi abilities, which I quickly realized was a bad idea.

Well shoot.  The road was like *right there*, I just stepped away to get a shiny flower...  or two... or ten...
Now I'm fricken lost in this forest, I dunno where my basket is, and this creepy dancing girl keeps trying to grab my hand.  Nice try, fairie!  I'm smarter than that!

Now this pond, that sounds like a safe bet.  I'll just hop in this boat in the rain and see what that friendly will-o-wisp at the center wants.  I have a good feeling!

Finally got back into Space Engineers. But me being me, I installed a ton of mods first...
All good though, will see how it breaks later, but first, gotta land this drop ship....... IF THE MAP GENERATOR WOULD UNDERSTAND THAT I DO NOT WANT AN EASY START BASE!!!

Finally, got a spawn right, dropping down from high altitude. After some quick fiddling with controls and finished setting up everything, finding out how to control something that is falling to the ground. I land... I get out, take a moment to admire my ship...

Then Dogs...
Ok dead...

Special ability blasts are helpful and all, but not perfect.  The bullet-clearing effect has a significant delay, doesn't clear lasers, and now there are bombers (unaffected by the blast) which release their torpedoes practically right on top of my ship.  Also fighters who do the same thing, but the torpedoes ignore shields...  And despite being *far* beyond most of my enemies technologically, their weapon damage is scaling upward faster than my hit points did.

Also I just tried to escort some resistance fighters, but the troop ships chose a route through 3 space artillery platforms.  Basically danmaku-machineguns.  I'm pretty sure my shots didn't even penetrate the hail of bullets, much less fast enough to save the morons.

The Last Federation: Tech race mode.
I mean I'm still going to *win*.  I'm only held back at all by the year-limits on techs.  I'm just not going to win any more battles.

Assault rifled in the face.
Then assault rifled in the body.
Then assault rifled in the face again.

Then I gave up on trying to fight Anna Navarre while playing a nonlethal character and on the fourth try I just used one of my 20 GEP rockets.  Easy.

I'm pretty sure you have to kill Anna no matter what—the door won't open until you do. Even if you glitch or cheat your way out, the game assumes you killed her.

A much more opportune time to kill her is the airplane hangar with Lebedev: just stick a LAM somewhere on the plane. She'll usually walk into it while you're in the cutscene and blow herself to bits.

I found an audiolog giving the code to a weapons locker. Although I have a little over a hundred bullets and a shiny new laser pistol, it never hurts to have more.

Standing right on the other side of the door is an assault droid. Cue much panicked fleeing as I tried desperately to load an EMP grenade, not realizing that I could just hit F to switch ammo types.

Got knocked around by some peasant rebels, scavengers(rather large beach birds), several wild boar, and finally brought down by a pack of wolves. Again.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Took a bit of a journey far from Stoneholm(the starter town) to a small town controlled by the totally-not-Vikings. Along the way, managed to deal with a slave hunter - a level 30 mob - in melee. I get to the town, and one of the gate guards(level 15) pretty much guts me within seconds. Probably didn't bring him below 50%. I'm just lucky none of the not-Viking players found me and looted me before respawn.

I swear, the game is just spawning enemies directly behind me to screw with me. First, in the weird pointless triangle room at the bottom-right of the map, two cyborg midwifes appeared directly behind me as soon as I entered the room. Next, in the garden area, I got caught between an annelid swarm, two midwifes and a protocol droid.

That damn Mightyena is the only thing standing between me and beating the third area.  I mean, I can't really complain since I took the easy way out and chose Espeon and its overleveled as fuck right now since exp seems balanced for having 2 pokemon in a game where the only kind of battles is double battles.

I was playing a demigod transmuter and I was on the last floor of lair. Due to reasons, I had to fight a basilisk in shallow water. After several turns of not hitting it I decide to go for a form that floats on water, an Ice form to be exact. There was just one problem though...

I had blade hands active.

I miscast the spell and suddenly Ice-clouds spawned on top of me...

So I try to cast the spell again (facepalm).

This time nothing awful happened, but I wasted a turn and I still didn't cast the spell properly. I finally realized I needed to get out of those clouds fast. I start walking, I make it to the edge...

For those of you who don't play crawl, blade hands is a spell that transform your hands into scythes which greatly increases the damage of your unarmed attacks (especially when you play as a demigod). Unfortunately, blade hands also lowers the success rates of spells you cast, and in Crawl botching a spell can be very bad.

Lets use the ancient naval art of training war parrots. No one will realize they have been boarded by space war parrots until it is to late!
You can fake being able to run on water. You can't fake looking cool when you break your foot on a door and hit your head on the floor.

I was given exactly enough weaponry to destroy exactly four tanks, which happened to be the number of tanks at the enemy camp I was targeting. That's probably unrealistic (What if I miss? What if one of the tanks survives the first rocket/bomb? What if there's more than four tanks?) and makes the mission unnecessarily difficult, but whatever.

What really killed me is the fact that enemy soldiers apparently have 100% accuracy after staring into a fire at night, in the middle of a suddenly-exploding base, firing at a moving camouflaged target against a totally black hillside from 200 meters, concealed by grass and trees.

ARMA: Armed Assault.

At least things happen in this game, unlike ARMA II where there's maybe three dudes and a chipmunk on the entire map.
