My answer was medkits for everyone in long war. Thin men are a lot less scary when the acid doesn't hurt you.

Also never sprint.... ever. It doesn't matter if you've gone over the whole map 3 times, failing a mission because you aren't willing to take the extra 30 seconds to move everyone and overwatch is a pain in the ass.

I swear, the CPU cheats at pazaak. Among other things:

- Drawing 10's in the first two turns, two rounds in a row
- Having the exact cards needed to tie me four rounds in a row
- Drawing two ones in a row and having a +1 card to tie me for 20
- Getting 20s many rounds in a row without using their side deck

And so on.

Pazaak is pretty easy.  Yea, it can cheat.  But once you stack your deck with a strategy in mind its easier.  Pazaak=infinite monies.

My favorite method of feeding Donnel (or anyone else really) EXP is to surround an archer and just let 'em whack away for as long as it takes

Why did I never think of this.
Recently, I did the "hit the enemy with bronze weapons/weaker characters until their HP < Donnel's attack damage and then attack" method.

You can do that, but you have to be really REALLY careful to avoid leaving characters next to each other. I lost count of the number of times a Dual Attack triggered and denied Donnel any EXP at all :/

Surrounding an archer works much better, because Donnel gets all of the EXP for each hit as well as delivering the finishing blow. Doing this, I managed to level Donnel up twice in his introductory chapter.

I ran away on the first turn and huddled in the lower left corner, with a single melee character outside the huddle bunch to damage the pirate who attacked him.  Only played it because of your post though, so of course I was being cautious.

The prologue alone is not as hard as the (hard, also hard) difficulty option would seem to imply... except man does that archer suck.  45 hit rate against a level one character?!?  Was kind of satisfying when he one-shot the enemy mage, at least.

Was at the top of the map, when I get jumped by 3-4 harpies and later a Wyvern. I Magic Mirror back to my base, but it was close enough for the Wyvern to follow. Not wanting to see my NPCs get nommed, I left to try and fight in a field. I lost.

Terraria. I spent several RL days building hellevators to cordon off the spread of the Crimson and Hallow, only for most of the map to get hit anyway. Worse, the Wall of Flesh apparently died right under the section with my home base, so now it has both. The Dungeon and Jungle are clean, fortunately.
