I got ambushed by a futuristic mimic - a monster of biomass and metal, disguised as a locker. I shot everything I had at it, but it still wouldn't go down. I dropped two live grenades and ran - when the smoke cleared, it was still standing and coming for me. I couldn't avoid a melee fight any longer, so I drew my machete. It tore trough my armor and flesh as if it was paper, but I got lucky and managed to put the blade in its half-metal brain. I was very badly hurt, so I closed all the doors, sat down, and took out my medkit. Then the second locker in that room ate me.

I screwed up big time.

I messed up the conditional for player death based on hp and died at game start.

Dude, the game doesn't even have a NAME, I was testing some hypothetical ideas for the future. In fact, it was hardly even a game-just a testbed.

Testbed. The game is now Testbed. Good night.

Got killed by a worm. Pretty pathetic, but in my defense this worm had giant nasty teeth and a giant nasty bite.

Then again, I easily could have outrun the slow thing while pelting it to death with rocks and darts rather than try to freeze it with my incredibly short-ranged "freeze"spell.

Then again, it was really early in the game, so whatever.

Eijun, my father, was killed by group ninja led by an old enemy of our house.

He died in battle soon afterwards, but my desire to avenge my father was strong. Thus, I went after his son, killing him in his sleep. And then son of his son, who I slew after a mighty duel. And then his son's son's son, who fell by my blade when he tried to steal a family relic.

Myself, I was getting very old and time of retirement was close. I had no heir by this point, and the last descendant of that enemy was now my lord, Hatamoto if you will. It was sacriledge to stand against him...

But nevertheless, I snuck into his fortress, slew a throng of his guards across three different floors, and finally appeared before him with arrow in my guts and sword in hand. I was wounded (2/3 HP, you could call that), we were evenly matched. Me, and my rival, Ichiyuken, fought for several long minutes, performing incredibly fast attacks only to be parried.

But in the end, I've prevailed, and he was dead. And the very moment when I returned home, the game counter for 'character life' have reached the limit and I had to retire as a monk.

My house is no more, my game is over, but my revenge has been fulfilled.

So, being a fan of post-apocalyptic games, and especially that of realistic FPS's I decided to finally try my hand at a full playthrough of Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl. The reason I've never touched it much before, is because I'm scared really fucking easily, and I really hate horror games. But after trying it multiple times, up to the points where I have to go underground, I really liked the core gameplay.

So I decided to act tough, and try going into the first underground area (I forget the name, but the place you have to go to find Strelok's stash.) That wasn't really bad, so I figure that maybe this game isn't so scary after all. Well, now I have to go to X18. Everyone I asked about X18 made it seems really fucking scary, so naturally I start freaking out. I make it inside, and step down some stairs. My room is completely dark, and I have a set of headphones with the sound on high. I step into a room, and suddenly I hear a loud smacking noise and my characters limbs start flailing around and I clip through the ceiling. I think I nearly had a heart attack, and I'm super reluctant to continue.

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

Note to self:
No matter how tempting it may be to try and grab the dragonstones the bearbug just dropped right on the edge of the magma, the stuff is insta-kill without a proper ring and it isn't worth it.

The first thing I thought about my latest session of Deus Ex: Human Revolution via OnLive is "Huh, it looks just as impressive as I remember it". The second thing I thought is "OH MY GOD ONLIVE IS HORRIBLE AND LAGGY HOW DID I BEAT THE ENTIRE GAME AND MANY SIDE MISSIONS LIKE THIS".

Also, I started a firefight with some gangsters from across the street, who promptly shot up the car I was hiding behind, killing several miscellaneous civilians in addition to myself.

Had a MiFi going, happily clearing out the Lair, one-shotting practically everything with a flaming scimitar I picked up from a bottled efreet. Got a couple of gifts from Okawaru, although they were really nothing special. Wander into Swamp, kill a few giant leeches and a hydra, and get a gift from Okawaru.

+12/+16 Plutonium Sword. Yes.

So, I curbstomp a few leeches with it, and take it off due to shenanigans with contamination making me have teleportitis and a couple of other not-so-pleasant issues, when I am stalked by a titanic slime creature. I equip the Plutonium sword and try to hack up the slimes that are still jumping on it, and the damn thing one-shots me.

Fuck you, Crawl. You're horrible, and I hope you know that.
