Last stand against a small group of crazies wo were killing people and making dolls out of the corpses. I managed to take out three of them then the fourth blindsided me and hit me with some tranqs  before knifing me.

Sounds like one of Paradox's games. It's the same series that allows your wife(who is also your spymaster) to ask for several thousand gold to essentially attempt suicide because she isn't popping any kids out.

Well, haven't really been playing anything, but I got a list.

Acid pits in Portal: Playing the advanced levels, jumps are kinda tricky.

Fighting hoards of hollow men (AKA undead) in Fable III: simply got overrun...

Shot in the body while playing soothing symphonies of jazz on my un-powered electrical guitar in LCS: repeat a few times for stupidities sake.

Oh, how could I forget, Got jumped by the little frog-like things in FFXIII: I know what you're thinking, "HOW?", apparently, they like to target one character at once, and in 13, only your main character needs to die in order for a game over, so, about 10 attacks of about 1/10th of your health, in the matter of a single turn. Unless you got a healer on that instantly, your dead.

Before that; Super Mutants, Raiders, Centaurs, Miralukas, anything that inhabits the DC wasteland of postapocalyptia: Was playin Fallout3 alot then...

Got clobbered by a massive overweight mole in disco shades wielding an artifact harp. (and no, this isn't DF) This is after said mole surviving a simultaneous attack by three of the main characters in, essentially, Super Saiyan mode. Holy funk. Thankfully, Death Is Cheap, made even cheaper by Angelo levelling after the fight was won, learning Zing and bringing me back after two tries.

The game is Dragon Quest VIII.

Effing Chaos Chimera with its effing Chaos upheaval. Got two ronins, two pure mages, a guru, a warlock, a guardian, and a ninja pirate. All of 'em level 44 or above, with uber equip and stuff. All of 'em dead.

it's a closed beta pre-alpha for a sandbox game I'm working on with friends. can't tell  but here's a hint.
it's a remake of the game I said about in my last post. if I say some random nonsense, it's probably from/related to that game.

Actually, sounds like Cortex Command. Though getting crushed by the rocket itself or its debris when you blow it up is much more common. Unless of course it was his own sniper, which seems to happen with frightful regularity in my games.

More recently though, I was playing with a friend and he decided that, since he didn't know how to play, he'd just place explosive bricks everywhere, destroying my brain, his brain, and my turret emplacements.
All before the game even started.
