The problem I see with going to both the hardware store and the hospital is that they're on opposite sides of our starting position.  Even if we went together, it'd take us a whole turn to get there, meaning we'd only have half a turn to search.  When I was looking for places to go, one of the criteria was that they needed to be close together, so we'll still have time to do stuff when we get there.  However, I think that tomorrow, going to the hardware store would be an excellent idea.  It only takes 1/2 a turn to get there from the water tower, so we could spend a whole turn searching and then a whole two turns fortifying the tower, which will probably make it fairly safe.  Then we could hit up the diner or the apartments for food and other supplies the day after.

i vote for this plan! but dont go to the gun store, really people most likely already went there. Lets go to diner for some food or we could go to the cathedral

Good plan, Frelock. I plan to move as stealthy as possible through all actions. Given my lack of fortification ability, I plan to spend that last bit of action exploring the area in the immediate vicinity of the water tower. Clear lines of fire, check for potential bolt holes, and generally know that bit of ground VERY WELL. Again, stealthily as possible.

Also, zombies are attracted to sources of light, yes? Our engineer type people could exploit this to make a LFD style Pipe Bomb. Glows brightly, then explodes.

CONTINGENCIES: If we hit trouble at the hospital, fight it out. If we hit trouble at the gun shop, I attempt to flee to the water tower. If there is zombie trouble at the water tower, fight if success is at all possible, call for reinforcements. If there is people trouble at the water tower, talk it out.

I agree with Frelock's plan.... though I think we may run out of gas without stopping at a station, but anyways.
I'll drive the group where they want to go, and attempt to keep me and the van hidden from zombies, cover them while they loot and help them load stuff into the van t each stop.  Attempt to find myself a hunting rifle and ammo for it and my magnum at the gunstore, and load as much supplies of food and medcine as I can at each stop, along with building supplies if we find any.  Keep a look out for gas.  Contingency:If I spot any undead while driving, if the groups large go around, if it's small go through (aka drive em over) and when looting, try and sneak up to them and blow their heads off with my magnum.

Excellent.  As an additive, while searching the hospital, I attempt to stay in rooms with windows if possible.  While searching the gun shop, I make sure there's no paranoid war vet hiding in a corner.

DAY 1:
You exit the cellar, sticking together, and clambor into the van. You easily manouver to the Strangelove Memorial Hospital, avoiding or crushing a fair number of wandering zombies.

HOSPITAL
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

NEXT you travel to the Gun Shop. The windows are broken and the door is hanging off. A pile of corpses is on fire in the street. Empty shells litter the doorway. It seems abandoned, and mostly ransacked.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

You then proceed to the Water Tower.
It seems untouched. You spend a momnet levering open the lock on the gate with a crowbar, and then drive the van right under it, pulling the gate shut behind. There's not a lot of land space here; there is fencing all around, and a small utility shed (locked, windowless). The catwalk around the tower isn't very wide, and you figure you can't fit more than 12 survivors or so up here. There is a small portable radio up here, and a water tap. The inside of the bulb is 3/4 full.  You could haul everything up to the catwalk, if you'd like, for half an action.
Monk12, you notice 3 places that could become points of entry - the gate, now unlocked, a low spot where the fence could be jumped, and a spot where the fence has seen better days and is rusting away a bit.  There is some shrubbery that could prove a visibility problem from above.

From up here, you watch the glorious vista of sunset o'er burning city, while listening to the dulcet tones of the test pattern on the radio.

Spoiler: My Char (click to show/hide)
Sorry about the RP, I just couldn't resist.
Oh and if this is night time I'll spend a turn dragging etherything up to the top of the tower if nessecery, and then spend the rest of the time sleeping, If zombies come I'll use my knife/broom to keep them away until everyone is awake and then either fight or flee depending on what everyone else is doing

9 people, so I suggest 3 watches of 3 people each.  Each person watches one of the three entrances, so we should have plenty of warning.  We should get up to the top quickly, so just leave the non-critical stuff (food, medical supplies) in the van and lock it, but take the weapons with us.
