So uh... The Debian package of DF doesn't have a raws folder?

I installed DF through the snap store for convenience and although DF works, the files only contain init and saves. New saves will have their own raw files, but this makes modding impossible (well, most modding). What a weird thing. It's 47.04 anyway, so I just installed the libraries myself and unpacked it (which works fine) but super weird.

One good thing about usually keeping the sound muted, that. I've seen the originating video for the shark thing, but I've never heard the audio

It's 3:15am and there's deer out in the yard, right outside my window, munching on the grass. I've run them off twice now. At least one young buck and a couple does closer to the bushes. They're more scared of the sound my window makes opening and closing than me yelling at them or the flashlight from my phone. Can deer even see the average flashlight? I can't tell, the fucker doesn't seem to react.

Can't blame them. If someone was flashing me at 3:15am, I would pretend I didn't see anything too.

I would imagine that deer don't have an instinctual response to artificial lights. Sure, it's something that doesn't exist in nature, but predators *typically* don't emit light, so there is no ingrained fear of light sources.

Don't wild animals have a tendency to freeze up when exposed to bright lights? "Going tharn" as put by rabbits. Apparently deer will do the same sometimes, when they're crossing a road at night and a car comes up on them.

Yeah, that's the freeze in place response, to hopefully go unnoticed by a predator going by. Then bolt if it keeps coming. This guy didn't even look up, just kept eating. I think they don't fear me anymore because I run them off regularly but never chase them, but the window seal squeak is new.
