Found out today that a particular minipet in an online game bothers some people because they see it as the needless suffering of an animal.
For those who don't know a minipet is a little small creature that follows around your character in online games. They typically are not interact-able (outside of a few cosmetic commands in rare cases) and are purely decoration. I typically don't use them, as I find them distracting, but I did find one I liked in a game I played.
The Krytan Floppy fish. It's basically a fish, it flops around on the ground behind your character, doing things you would typically expect of a large bass out of water. The game includes swimming, and when following you in water it swims normally. I like it because it is just absurd enough, and my character essentially being a giant 10 foot tall cat would probably like having a portable food source.
I was told I was a bad person because even with it not being real it glorifies the suffering of a living creature and I should not use it. They were legit mad at me.
WTF people,
1) it's a fish. It is not intelligent even by animal standards.
2) From what I can understand of it's backstory it's magically enhanced to be able to survive out of water, it just has no limbs thus it has to flop around to move.
3) The lake it is from in canon is no longer a lake due to plot reasons, and it would have airdrowned if it wasn't made into a minipet.
4) There is no leash or anything on any of these minipets so they can be implied that they are following the character willingly.
5) this is a game where there are special death animations by killing things with elemental damage like burning or electrocution. This includes helpless ambient critters like bunnies.
And finally 6) It's a game none of this is real!

@Kagus So what you are telling me is that if I were to somehow go back in time 2 weeks I could live in a mansion for a little over a dollar a year? At that price I could probably pay someone to translate the local language into English for me and still come out on top.
I assume you set your computer's calander back 2 weeks and applied for the place?
EDIT: The next post made me realize the square footage. I only saw the number of bedrooms. I would be a bad home buyer.
