So... Anyone got any headset/-phone recommendations?

Sennheiser HD 25 is the first choice, pionneer is making decent headphones too if you don't want to spend that much... In any case go for dj equip they're way tougher than headphones branded "gaming".

I've always kinda figured that "gaming" sets were basically just designed around looking fancy and being called something ridiculous. I've had at least one gaming set that actually lasted me a really long time, but I've had others that were pretty much just cheap junk that hopped on the opportunity to fail miserably.

I'm not sure how sold I am on the Sennheiser, though... The robustness-despite-appearances sounds great, but I've never been a fan of on-ear cups, and the whole mention of the cable being perhaps its one structural Achilles heel is also a little worrying... I've had entirely too many cable issues in my time, which is kinda why I've been interested in getting a wireless headset.

By all accounts the on-ear cups should be quite comfortable, but I tend to wear the things for extended sessions and over-ear has just always worked better for me. If I see it somewhere I could try it on, I'll take a peek.

We've been looking at the Mpow H5 as a possibility, but the mention of a slightly tight fit is troubling... I've got a bit of a big head. It's tremendous, yuge. Everyone says so.


As for the snapped pair which has now been mummified with tape to keep it semi-functional, my dad asked for me to send over some pictures of the break to see if he could maybe get something back from the seller, since it all happened so shortly after unpacking...

...and a few minutes later, told me not to bother anyways... The product listing, with its hundreds of positive reviews, and indeed the entire seller's profile, had completely vanished from Amazon. Gotta love it.

Getting real fucking tired of being ignored when im talking to people. It doesnt matter where, or who, it just seems like no matter what if im saying something, nobody's fucking listening. And then theres the asshole customer, i gotta yell at them that they cant take liquor into the casino gaming area, they pretend they dont hear me. Im gonna knock a fuckers teeth out.

Happens to me in social gatherings sometimes.  Depending on how aggressive/talkative/loud everyone else is, you just gotta rise to their level.  Decibel level or otherwise.  At least that's my problem, I tend to talk quietly.

In a retail setting my problem is more that some people just did not come to this store to take no for an answer.  I'll tell them "no we don't have it, no we don't have it in the back" and they'll just stand there, maybe tell me "oh but I drove an hour to get here."  Like they rationally understand there's no way I can help them but they're not going to let me leave until I come up with a way.  Sounds like that's more your problem, selective deafness/stupidity.  If you work in a casino, do you at least have someone to knock their teeth out for you?
