No more than teaching humans how to think abstractly. After all, life exists solely as a means to beget life simply because the life that spawned it passed on the genes for making more little sprogs, doing such being its own reward despite not actually being rewarding for no reason other than that those that replicate become numerous and those that dont, no matter how interesting in their brief stay in this mortal world, become irrelevant in death. We're all just self-replicating, thinking sex toys, if you look at it from an evolutionary perspective. The only difference between you and the robo-dick would be that you bleed when cut. All components of a living organism serve only to further its chance of successfully breeding before it, too, dies.

But that's just the thing: nobody "taught" humans how to think abstractly. The capacity for abstract thought is an evolved trait of humans; really, one might question whether something that doesn't have that capacity can be human.
The fact that humans replicate and have abstract thought has no bearing on whether giving complex emotions and thoughts to an object meant purely for your sexual gratification when you have the choice not to do so is ethical.
