So apparently r/transprogrammer is a thing. I've no idea what relevance being trans has to programming.

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

I just realized... with Pokémon essential

We really could make our own fanmade Bay12 pokemon game with like 150 fakeamon.
It's been tried before as a romhack. Might be some good ideas here.

Yeah but it isn't as annoyingly impossible.

Maybe they were assigned to become engineers in school, and now want to actualize the programmer they are within?

I'm mostly confused as to why they'd chose to combine the two. S'like, r/programming doesn't care if you're trans or a dog or whatever, and it's a vastly superior resource in terms of actual programming content, why not use that? Or any myriad of other programming-related communities.
I've also gone on rants before about why safe spaces are dumb and counterproductive so whatever.

Really though, I have no idea either. Gaymers kind of make sense since nearly all romance in videogames are heterosexual. But there's no romance in programming. Probably.

Maybe it's for people who went from using vi to Emacs or vice-versa? :P

What the actual fuck
My thoughts in order:
1.  The advertising implies the game exists as revenge for Hiroshima.
2.  The girls do not resemble actual tanks.
3.  This wasn't actually made in Japan was it?

At a bare minimum, programming is a job, and this could be a good place to find trans-friendly workplaces. Cis people often haven't seen their coworkers interact with a trans person, so they don't know. The average member of a trans-specific community would be more informed about this.

There are also times when being trans and being a programmer align. On the front page of that Reddit someone someone seems to be talking about a programming convention or something that has discriminated against trans people in the past. It's nice to have a place to talk about thing like this where people won't go "Ugh, gender stuff. I'm so tired of hearing about identity politics."

1.  Seems like a rational decision.
2.  RIP
3.  Holy crap, you're right. I just assumed it was because it seems like the sort of thing Japan'd do.

Cis people
Still seems really petty to me. I'm also aware that people don't like my views on the topic so I'm going to drop it before flames happen.

Presumptions don't make holistic conclusions :P

On a pertinent note to the thread, I've come across the usual Philippine house spider that my parents like to call their pets (not that we don't take care of them or anything--we just let them live in our home because they're 'friendly' and non-aggressive).

This single spider in question was something that made me jump when I first saw it in the kitchen. Decided to take a picture and watch its reactions, since it seemed confident to stay still no matter how close I brought the camera. Nudged a plastic-thingy and suddenly it sprang at the thingy with both forelegs and its pincers, before methodically returning to its original position.

I thought it would go away tomorrow. It returned in the same position...on another thing I wanted to recycle after being used by relatives/family :I

My fucking computer restarted itself to install Windows 10 while I was away and eating, without asking for permission.

This is not ok on so many levels.
