No, MS won't start charging more for upgrades.

What they want is the same 30%ish cut Apple/Google get from their app stores, as well as advertising revenue; that will more than make up for any losses from giving the base OS away.

So there's an amateur film crew in my house today filming some shitty film for a university project.
I was told about this yesterday, but as far as I knew they were filming some sort of documentary/instructional video on young people moving out for the first time (for a couple of my housemates this is the first non-parent place they've lived), so I was very confused to hear raised voices arguing in the room next door.

Apparently they're filming some sort of really shitty drama? And it sounds as though they've recruited my most-hated housemate to play one of the leading roles? This is all very strange, as well as inconvenient and annoying. I thought people were actually arguing at first, and was confused to hear the same lines over and over again... until I realised it was scripted and they were filming multiple takes.

Er, I would have no idea. I don't even know what university they go to.
I can understand that they want to shoot it somewhere other than a studio, though. It's not that I'm WTFing over.
The whole thing just confused the heck out of me for a while.

I realized I now have over 3000 posts. Also, I realized that the quality of posts generally decreases as postcount goes up. When I had a small number of posts, I gave meaningful responses all the time. In my current posts, there's roughly a 50% chance that what I say is completely irrelevant and doesn't relate to the thread topic at all.
