I've killed the "Get Windows 10" process several times now, and it won't go away. I do not want Windows 10, stop bothering me about it!

Why not? I did not do it for a while becasue I did not feel like it but it's actualy kinda nice.

Takes a bit of time but your files stay where your left them.

And you can turn off things you think might risk your privacy.

I've let my system try to install Windows 10 twice now. First time, it didn't work because it tried to write something read only. A few days again, I let it try again, and got the same error. My parents, on the other hand, didn't get this problem. It's not fair, I'm the one who needs a performance boost, not them!

You know it's not actually a free OS, right? Everything I've read indicates it's only an offer for a free upgrade, and the offer will be withdrawn eventually and then they'll start charging for Windows 10 for anyone who didn't bother to upgrade.

Precisely. It's a free upgrade for now. I'm down with it. The privacy stuff people were crying about is old + Cortana and can all be opted out of/deactivated. It's basically Win7 that boots up much faster.

Thats the exact same argument people made for win8, and its not gained any more persuasion in the meantime.

I upgraded to 10 from 8.1, which was an improvement.

I upgraded to 8 (64-bit) from XP, which was also an improvement. (More efficient, booted faster, didn't BSOD constantly, etc)

Meh, Windows 10 will be latched onto new computers by the time I retire my old ones... 
Older windows still work fine and most software will still be cross-compatible between older windows version and 10.

So I'm not really in a hurry to take up the free offer.  Its not like Windows 10 offers tech/features that says: I NEED IT NOW.
