That's a pretty good excuse if I'm asked why I'm checking the X-COM 2 thread for the third time today.

I suppose it's because both the Pathologic and We Happy Few kickstarter updates have kinda dried up recently. Those are both a joy when they appear.

... this ruddy game. Emerald Dragon. I guess it's somewhat forgivable considering it's an old SNES game, but... game designers. I just want to tell you lot that, after about the second or third time you murder off team members in relatively rapid succession, it starts losing its impact.

pretty much every single person in your team is going to die. Near as I can tell, if it doesn't have an XP pool, it's a dead thing walking. Just about every time you make a transition to a new area or notable objective, bam. Someone formerly in your party dies. Particularly deadly if a new party member shows up.

Best one so far: Deadly archer of doom, that's face tanked fucking demon acid to the face and regularly gets hit with lightning bolts, etc., gets one shot by a kid in a town. Cutscene death, shoddy kiddy arrow right to the heart :V

Apparently done to make room for a new archer. One archer per team! Gods save you if you're over the allotted party composition quota. And just leaving the party doesn't help, either. Precisely one person has survived that so far, and he (a resistance leader) is a guaranteed deadman in time. Well... I guess one of two, I'unno. Dude was one of the only two (out of like... six or seven extras, at the point I'm at) still alive that wasn't one of the main character pair (and the other survivor is probably committing suicide offscreen right now ).

I'm kinda' amused how they mostly just don't bother leveling up your allies, though. Why do something like that when you can

Finally got around to toying around with modding again, only to remember that I have no idea what I want out of the game. Randomly chasing ideas that half-work at best, and there's half-assed shit everywhere.
