I see. If you'll excuse me, I hear they're having an End-of-World sale down at Crazy Joe's tinfoil hat superstore.

This morning, instead of removing my pajama pants and donning normal pants, I just put on my normal pants on over top of them. I did eventually realize this, halfway through my morning routine, and removed the extraneous pants. I was somewhat surprised that I didn't even notice the extra pants. Further experimentation revealed I could stack about three pairs of pants without noticing much extra bulk. Any additional pants significantly inhibited mobility.
Sometimes I try to put my skirt over top of my sweatpants without realizing it. Fashion statement, or fashioner statement?

Ah, gaming woes. SimCity 4 is a complete mystery to me.

Got SimCity 2000 for free not long ago, played it for the first time after... more than 10 (15??) years. Was never good at it back then (no proper manual), but now I got the hang of it. So I got tempted by SC4.

First wtf few days ago was music. SC4 music is not bad, it's pretty decent actually, but I think this was the first time ever I muted an otherwise good game music because it just doesn't fit. It's just... it's just not a music I would listen to while building a city, sorry. Then again, SC4 as a whole is doing pretty good job at sapping my desire to build in the first place. Can't quite decide why - is it the UI which feels more cluttered, the need to do more clicking to get the same or even less info on same topic than in SC2000, the fact than on one hand some options feel more watered down when some new added feel like they don't add anything meaningful or maybe it's that vague feeling of SC4 just being more... game-y and less like simulation than SC2000? I dunno, but more I try to like it, more repulsed I feel by it. Maybe I will just start a new city from scratch instead of bothering with tutorial ones. :V

Sometimes I wonder how Evil Bosses ever instill the loyalty they do in media.

They just constantly kill their subordinates for the most minor of mistakes or sometimes things that aren't even their own fault and never reward anyone...

What the heck?

At least real life evil bosses are supported by the crippling societal issues.
I think the idea is that people are too scared to rebel.

Stereotypes have basis in reality. Otherwise they don't become stereotypes.

Quote from: Narration in a random nature show
But how can coral and penguins coexist?
Is such drama necessary in nature shows? Considering anyone with basic biology knowledge or even plain common sense can answer that question (ecological niches), does it need to be asked?

Brb, writing a novella where a rag-tag team of penguins mounts an offensive against the evil Coral Empire.

The DnD 5e supplied backgrounds are a bit odd.

Quote
[Reasonable backgrounds]
8: I was, in fact, raised by wolves.
...
[Reasonable goals]
6: It is my duty to provide children to sustain my tribe.

The second is bad enough on its own. Why, exactly, are you adventuring if your life goal is to have as many kids as you can? And in the context of the first one, what exactly is meant by 'provide' children to 'sustain' your 'tribe'?

Well...

Maybe they need to travel the land to find a variety of bloodlines to fortify the tribe. Interbreeding is bad 'n stuff.

Or "provide" might mean "kidnap" and "sustain" might mean "feed."

It would be hella' interesting to find out most of the way through a campaign the character you're incredibly dependent on and absolutely need to achieve the campaign's goals, has in fact been abducting children and sending them off to be eaten by a cannibal tribe the whole time. Bonus points if mr. homophagus was the most affable and charitable character of the lot of them, and otherwise an outstanding paragon of all that is good and righteous. Except for the baby eating.

It's always something, I guess.
