I think that Cameron statement has been already posted either here or in Europolitic thread.

Not that it's wrong to repost it, mind you. It should be reposted a lot of times, because otherwise we're in for 1984 recreation.

Well I successfully snatched that Teddybear my sister 'geniusly' hid in the trash... and she didn't notice.

I am in this odd stalemate so to speak.

I can't enjoy it myself because as long as my sister doesn't know about it... she can always find it, flip her lid, steal it back and then instead of throw it out just damage it.

So the best POSSIBLE scenario would be to somehow let her know I have it... and for her to give up her search and just admit that it is mine now and hands off.

Uhhh... Is my thinking wrong?

EDIT: Just found on the sub: WTF Britain

Oh, joy. Gonna stepup hydrofracking aswell as all the other fun shit? I hope the English like earthquakes~

And truck traffic. What is it, 1000 semitrucks are needed for a fracking operation, to setup for one fracturing? Although, England does have a more tightly knit(or did) rail system than the US, and more of it may have survived, so that may have an effect on truckloads. Still, thatsnot counting trucks needed to shift the gas once it has been released by the fracturing...

Or I may just be horribly, horribly misremembering my benchmark project.

Why are you stealing your sister's soft toys?

Why are you stealing your sister's soft toys?

She wants to throw it out (it is a display bear, meaning she never played with it)

So technically I am not stealing anything.

... I'm not sure about wrong, but you both sound incredibly young from the information in that post.

And the answer to your question is in that stuffed animal thread, gig, I do believe. "Hidden in the trash" is another phrase for "thrown away", and neo apparently likes the thing and doesn't want to see it junked.

Personally, I'd rather say that once the owner puts the thing in the actual garbage, that's them ceding all claim to it and they no longer get input on what happens to it >_>

No I mean literally "hidden in the trash"

She was going to throw it out and left it at the front to be thrown out later (Then I wanted to take it for myself leading to the fiasco), then hid it in the washer/dryer room, then hid it in her room, where she "pretended" to throw out old work but stuffed the bear in the mostly empty garbage bag... while pretending it is still in her room.

Why has she gone to this effort? Clearly I am missing something here.

Because she thought I wanted to do nasty things to it... because I am a guy.

And guys don't like stuffed animals unless they want to do ontowards things to them.

... yeah, at that point whatever's happening between you two isn't about the bear.

so this is apparently a thing

This is a good subreddit. I'm not sure I want to actually subscribe to it, but I'll keep it on the radar screen.

Yeah for sure.

If It wasn't for the comments I would have probably dropped the whole thing to spare her feelings, however illogical.

But those comments just made me more angry the more I waited until I couldn't even sleep... I was just festering

Mind you I TOTALLY want that bear... It is a pretty great bear.

It isn't one she personally ever liked... so it isn't like I am taking one of her old friends she grew out of.

By throwing it away, she has clearly expressed that she is no longer interested in ownership of the item. Salvage from the trash is a valid means of gaining ownership.  If you feels she threw it away by mistake, offer to let her have it back, and if she declines, just keep it.
