Which is why wars and conflicts are, sadly, inevitable when two opposing value systems meet.

I don't understand why hunting with full auto or at least burst fire never took off.

Numerous reasons.

First, cost. No doubt rounds are cheaper in the US, but they aren't free. For hunting deer, you want a good sized rifle calibre, not a plinking, cheap round like a .22lr.

Second, accuracy. It's less accurate to spray and pray. Ideally you want to kill it with the first shot anyway, to minimise suffering to the animal and make sure it doesn't run off.

It damages the meat and hide - its got a bunch of holes and or bullets in it now instead of one.

It's simply unnecessary.

Seriously, though, this is pretty much why I am not against wars in general. They are inevitable.

Just because they are inevitable does not mean you can't be against them. I'm against death, and that's inevitable. War just... Sucks. Mostly for the soldiers and the people in the warzone. Even the people back at home. War is only good for the rich and well-to-do who seek profit.
