I don't necessarily think it isn't, but mind-manipulation is nothing new, and used in the context above would be to 'save marriages' or under other voluntary arrangements.

Pedophiles are a statistical rarity -- as well as a subject that basically no one is willing to research, which largely means that drugs tailored to it (assuming that's even possible and last I checked, no one has a goddamn clue) will be a bloody long time coming -- but divorce and split families are incredibly common and identified by a lot of people as an incredibly major social ill. You're going to see monogamy encouraging drugs roll out long before you see pedophilia suppressing ones.

The fact that it's voluntary doesn't mean that people aren't going to use it on others involuntarily. That and I'm also afraid that if it's successful, it could lead to other mind control drugs. Then again, that's a bit of a "slippery slope" fallacy.

Im no fan of medication, but when used in conjunction with other methods it can be used for incredible healing, good, or evil.
  We need to focus on moderating and the proper application of these sensitive drugs, not leave them for the criminals to develop under the table.  imo.

I know I'm going to catch flak for this, but I'm inclined to believe that anti-pedophilia drugs are about as likely to work as anti-gay drugs. The best that can be done is complete suppression of sexual tendencies, and the only ways to do that right now are fraught with other problems of both ethical and medical character.

I've known or known of a fair amount of people over the years that really would rather stay together, but the whole hormones and fading sexual intimacy and whatnot got in the way and they weren't folks that could deal with a non-monogamous/open arrangement.
