Upon Googling for images that match "the lord of the rings book", the image page had this at the bottom:
Quote
Suspected child abuse content has been removed from this page. Report child abuse content.
WTF? I mean seriously WTF? The results are like 98% pictures of books with the occasional screenshot or fanart in there. Why in the world would that search be bringing up suspected things like that? ???

Didn't someone bring up some fanfic about Legolas that involved that kind of stuff a while ago?

... if what I've seen of LotR fanfiction is anything to go by, Eyetwo, you don't actually want to know.

E: I mean, don't get me wrong, there's a fair amount of good stuff in there. There's just also stuff where things go down like goddamn. Orcs and wargs and worser things. Best not to think on it too hard.

Yes, there's quite a bit of non-sexual fanfiction, and they tend to be the better ones. It's a shame when things are coloured by the opposite end of the spectrum, heh.

All the fanfiction I've seen has been very sexual. I've mainly only seen My Immortal.

You better have watched the web series on youtube.

I can't be the only one who thinks this is some shonky business.
Using hypnosis to help "recover memories" doesn't have the best track record of producing reliable results. That's how you get children to believe that they've been sexually assaulted by literal demons performing physically impossible things.
And by the sounds of it there was more than enough evidence to get the attacker convicted without having to resort to a method that is dubiously trustworthy at best.

I cant think of anything good to say; only snark.
Hypnosis is entirely too wishy-washy to accept as evidence.

As the closest thing this forum has to being a "Hypnosis Expert"

It seems likely that the entire case wasn't based off of this. They likely brought forth these memories and started an investigation because of what she recalled and found the evidence.

As well the accuracy of using hypnosis to recall events has improved within experts. Mostly because now they are recognizing the things they are doing that causes these false memories (most typically: Leading the subject)...

Same with a lot of things actually. Like eye witness testimony.

Though yeah I doubt her hypnosis induced memories were the "key piece of evidence" it was probably what they used to get a warrant.
