Japa's wife's (less hot) doppelganger was in the sample of 37, so he would settle for nothing less than the best.

If Japa's wife was in the population of 100, she would appear around position 50, on average. Hence, Japa's wife had to exist in a population of 13 people.
13 / 3.5 billion = 3.714× 10^-9 or .000000003714 or .0000003714%

However, this assumes that she accepted his proposal and went through with the marriage. No offense, Japa, but science demands accuracy. There is no data on the number of marriage proposals that have been turned down, so I will have to assume its effect is negligible. That said, an informal poll by Match.com/Zoomerang for TIME showed that 20% broke off the marriage.
.0000003714% x 80% = 2.971 x 10^-7 or .0000002671 or .00002671%.

So Japa had a .00002671% chance of finding his wife. Congrats!
