People tend to care more about conforming to conventional look than about functionality and what's comfortable.

Especially parents towards kids -- My mom would get embarrassed if I didn't look like the tidy, neat, aesthetics-focused son she wanted me to be. Couldn't give a crap what was more functional - but she didn't like seeing a messy bed and having thoughts that I could possibly be a messy person.

So...I just won $10 on a scratch-off lottery ticket. Anyone who's used scratch-offs before knows that you're lucky to win once in however many chance the ticket gives.

Well, I just scored on every single chance. All 10 chances. One dollar each.
