I accidentally cut a chunk of my finger off at work today cleaning a slicer, and have been kind of weirded out by the idea that I'm going to have to live with that missing for the rest of life. Also means no WASD until it recovers, but hey, new DF release don't need no WASD.

That's... mildly disconcerting. Which finger and what part of it was sliced?

About 2 millimeters into the very tip of the left middle finger, with a circle of about 4 millimeters of exposed. The bleeding had pretty much stopped by the time I finished my shift (it's just a flesh wound!), so I just removed the shoddy bandage a friend wrapped, doused some rubbing alcohol on it, and taped some paper towel to it when I got home ($4 for bandaids?!).
