My WTF for today:
How the hell did Bravely Default get released with a T rating? Like, the red mage sidequest alone is one of the darkest things I've ever seen in an RPG ever, and that isn't even the darkest thing in the game.

If I remember it right (and if its still true), the ESRB doesn't actually play the whole game, theres too many games. (and of course, they don't play any online bits). They get sent a summary of everything you'd run into playing the game normally, but not a massive amount of spoilers.

Even then they miss stuff. The first thing that comes to my mind is Elder Scrolls IV and the Dark Brotherhood quest line. Specifically

When the rest of the Brotherhood kills Lachance. His corpse has been rather thoroughly messed up.

Though they did change the rating later, they still screwed up there.

More the sex than violence. Dark Souls is M and Dark Souls II is T solely because the former had a topless woman(-spider, but that's a different issue) and the latter did not.

I was about to say something about Demons Souls but then I actually checked the ESRB. It looks like the Ao rating (your equivalent of R) appears to mostly apply to sexual content.

I find it WTF'y that there are other places which really insist on putting the 'Christian' label on things for...whatever reason.

I mean, really. That isn't necessarily needed (cue the huge information gap on what Christianity is about). And I speak from a Christian-majority country for...oh, say 4 whole centuries worth of that experience.

The WTF'y part is on...how it becomes exclusively speaking in texts or in what they think is correct. More of a sad thing that it shows misunderstandings in regard to the open-minded perspective.

Sure, not all are like that but...those that I've encountered that are...erm, prominently western, read muchly like that. :S
