So, thanks to me checking the content of this thread good 20 pages back for reasons I forgot already, I have discovered HowToBasic youtube channel today .

Right now, there's a really strong part of my mind that's pushing the other parts to recognize this...this thing as both one of the highest order of comedy and one of the highest form of art.

Suddenly I just realized how weird it was that my upbringing ignored the question of religion so completely that I didn't even really understand what it was  and why people got so worked up about it until middle school.

Playing a forum game on another forum, that is adored by everyone playing it. My own God of Fire, Epithus (who was originally based on Donut but drifted away into being something else), has a neighbour called the Kai. Epithus helped some of the Kai's people during a centaur crisis due to a Mad God called Kuriosolinus/Lysso, and they converted while remaining good, tax-paying citizens of the Kai because they liked that I had been nice to them. The Kai accepted this once I opened marble trade with him. Later, I sent some of my preachers towards an area of various worshippers, and he said that he'd claimed it already. After much arguing, he showed me a PM where we had agreed this, and after checking to make sure that he was telling the truth, I relented and redirected my converters to be priests in the previously-mentioned Epithus-worshipping Kai's citizens area.

Now, he requested single combat with me over this area of land. Since he's bigger than me, and I didn't particularly need it anyway, I declined. However, he had sent some plans to the GM, and when the update came his god marched into my city with an entourage of centaurs and told me I could either fight him in single combat or have my city levelled. I obviously had no choice but to accept.

I was planning on using good tactics and agility, as well as the fact that he had slight maluses to his power because of his Pantheonism, to defeat him. However, his brother Orubashi has decided that he can't allow his brother to fight alone, and is joining in. This makes it a combined force of 2,400,000 followers behind their team, vs 800,000 followers behind my team.

Yeah.

My solution to this is to attack as many of their cities as I can, to feast upon their fear and weaken their faith in their gods. I'm hoping they'll either be lured out of my own city or have only one of them fight me at a time, but it's just as likely that they'll counter-obliterate my own cities. I really have no idea why no one is willing to help me out here, so I'm just hoping I'll make it out of this alive.

Yeah, I died. The speech and stuff is a bit out-of-order, but I'm fairly happy with the battle.

your story reminds me of the fact that people are dicks and that you should create a god game like that on bay12 where people are less dicks, we have people who take stuff too seriously instead

You could at least set the foundations and explain how it works, I'm sure someone would be up for GMing it (I'm probably worse at schedules and tend to forget things on the computer (homework, anything else completely related to living) at the drop of a pin).

I'm still confused at how aggressive half of the drivers in my town are.  They will willingly go about 10-20 mph over the speed limit just to get around one truck who is turning at a corner.  This is with less than 8 feet of clearance between the front of the truck and another car, and yet I see two cars zoom past just to get stuck at a red light on a corner.  Are these people in such a damned hurry that they have to be suicidal about it?  Why do they insist on nearly wrecking/totaling their cars just to get 5 feet ahead of where they were?

Basically, you post your actions, get followers, learn miracles and try not to die. It's basically a turn-based RP. Reading through the game thread should give people a good idea of what it's like.

If anyone asks to be GM, I'll ask Dial if they can have permission.

No, but three times my power level. One of them had previously killed capital G God.
