Hundreds of miles and hundreds of years off.

On another note, I finally noticed a change to youtube that was sort of funny. Comment translations are now apparently giving us a button which, among other things, will change "wat" into "what". xD

Remember folks, potatoes are serious. http://www.parentdish.co.uk/2013/09/04/girl-8-orphaned-after-gas-from-rotting-potatoes-kills-her-entire-family/
Jesus. I've read something like that before, except it was cabbage in a bunker that killed a bunch of soldiers. Pretty sure they were also Russian funnily enough..

William Gibson must be a really angry and confused man if pure profanity and this are associated with his name:

Oh, yeah, William Gibson is what I got when I just put in "fuck" about 300 times.

(exponential copy+paste, of course :P)

Graviti and it's director both win "Best something" Bafta.

...

Aw to hell with it, why am I even surprised. I knew this will happen. And it's not like Bafta are any type of awards anyone should take seriously, much like the Oscars.
Still, part of me hoped...Eh, nevermind.

edit:
Wait wait wait...THE William Gibson? Neuromancer etc. author?
Anger, confusion and profanity??
This makes absolutely no sense to me.  :o

Apparently I write like Edgar Allan Poe. Eh wat.

Strange, the preamble to the S.A. constitution is also written like Lovecraft. There seems to be a trend here.
The Venezuelan preamble is written like David Foster Wallace, though, so maybe not.

Gravity absolutely deserved Best Sound, Visual Effects etc. That was the most audiovisually powerful movie I have ever seen. I felt like I was suffocating throughout.

Oh, I believe that in cinema, with proper audio levels, this movie can be quite different than watching it at home. However, if movie does not hold the same charm on the big screen as on the small, well, I'd hardly give it "best visual" or something-along-those-lines award.

As for the sound - eh, I know what they were trying to do, but personally I found that in many cases the music (not the sound alone) actually killed the experience. For example, the scene where Bullock is outside Soyuz and ISS explodes in the background? Personally, I'd find that scene brick-shitting insane if it wasn't for the music.
In fact, whole damn movie could be completely without music. It's just to way damn over the top. It tries to build up as if it was an action movie and that's the problem - it isn't, but it tries to be and ultimately becomes DULL.

Then again, that's just my opinion. Not trying to negate yours or anything, but the opportunity to express myself about this movie was just good to pass up. I could go on and on about it, but I'm felling like I'm really starting to push it, so, sorry about that.

ohmigod it's gravity
where's george clooney

Speaking of intense movie scenes, I watched The Hunger Games last night. I had no problem with the teenagers bashing each other to death with bricks scenes, but I do have a crippling fear of wasps and bees, which made one scene absolutely terrifying.
