Today I woke up singing that "Don't go chasing waterfalls" song, I dont even know what its called and I absolutely hate it. I was about halfway through and had a vague recollection of singing the first half. Sleep singing?

Also, why in hell did anyone thing the second ending is better than the first one of I Am Legend, because monsters can't be people too? Are we so entrenched into safe tropes about monster movies that one that does it differently needs to change the very thing that makes it redeemable so the audience can feel more comfortable with it?

I'm curious, I only watched the film once, and I didn't really look into it so I don't really know what the different endings were.
What were they? I'm guessing it's something to do with the final standoff bit?

I think it kind of made sense.
In that he was trying to aggravate the zombie so it would be as close to him as possible when it went off.

I'm still curious as to what the different versions of the ending were though.

In that he was trying to aggravate the zombie so it would be as close to him as possible when it went off.

Except that;
1. They clearly weren't capable of reasoning. That lil' furnace looking bomb shelter could've easily housed room for 3, whilst he plopped down the grenade somewhere (it wouldn't even have to be close - this an explosive going off UNDERGROUND IN CLOSED CONDITIONS!
2. They weren't exactly calm before, the mutants were hell bent on cracking the glass. They didn't even hesitate when Will pulled out the grenade- if they remembered what it was, they didn't care.
3. The woman or the child were hopelessly expendable compared to the doctor who spent a good chunk of his life actually researching (AND DISCOVERING!) the cure. They're lucky the writers were capable of researching his blood/distributing it without him.
4. They stole his bacon.

So no, it doesn't make sense :|
