Honestly, I think all people, of either gender, have a minimum of conflict that they need in their lives.  However, the nature of this conflict can be anything.  Most people eventually find suitable outlets, that don't involve troubling non-consensual others.  I think most people are capable of getting their fix from identifying with fictional characters.
