So my house got raided for drugs this morning. Never mind that my parents haven't used anything harder than alcohol in twenty years, never mind that neither my sister nor myself have ever used drugs, we still got raided due to an 'anonymous tip'. Of course, the first thing I know of it is when I wake up to see two highly attractive policewomen standing in my doorway. Thank the gods that I long ago forced myself into the habit of making sure to filter, censor and scrutinise every thought that moves to my mouth, because the first thing that popped into my head was that it was obviously still a dream, so I should, ah.... 'invite them to join me in my bed'. Bloody hell am I glad that I didn't say that! Of course, they found nothing and soon left quite sheepish, leaving behind an indignant sister, a hysterical mother and a thoroughly confused me.

My lawn is in poor shape currently. I guess we have been having quite a dry spell but there are a few spots where I am starting to debate borrowing a push mower as it is an incredible waste of fuel but how can there be a few super lively spots in a lawn that is 75+% unhealthy.
The 25% could be screwing over the other 75% if they've been around long enough (using excess water and minerals to extend the roots).Regardless if it hasn't rained in a while then they've got to be accruing water somehow. I would guess that they are in a good place for condensation or on hella moist dirt.
Depending on lawn size you could also just use clippers or scissors to de-lively those spots.

Ten minutes of pushing something around sandwiched between ten minutes of unlocking and unchaining and ten minutes of locking and chaining isn't trivial?
Hahahaha.

It takes me two hours. And that's with a petrol-driven mower.

Same here
Half that for me and my lawn/backyard is not even close to "big".

The one thing I dislike about being British is that I can't move somewhere with better laws without everyone speaking a different language.

What about Canada?

As another southerner, I feel the need to also inform you that the rest of these people are insane -- the heat has melted their higher cognitive functions -- and sweet tea tastes of arse.

Your Southerner membership is hereby revoked, you blaspheming scalawag! Sweet tea is not a beverage, it is part of a balanced daily breakfast, lunch, dinner and everytime in between. Especially when the weather outside is akin to nesting underneath Satan's ballsack.

Most places with active volcanoes are actually more bearable, from what I've seen. They're either further north or have a good sea breeze going. Some places in the south have the latter, but it's never as good as a proper island or whathaveyou.

No, see....a volcano is *dry* heat. That's child's play.
This is "yo dawg i heard you like humidity so we put a lake in your air, so you can steam while you bake".

Although it's still just spring here. We haven't hit 90 degrees yet, although we've come close a couple of days. Humidity is only getting up to about 60-80% most days.

While I can see some merits in this kind of reasoning... Have you ever tried public transport during a heatwave? Hint: don't.
