Don't worry, spiders aren't usually social, so there probably isn't an alpha spider. New ones probably just keep moving when you kill the old ones, because your place smells sexy to spiders or something. Also, I suspect your cat has formed an unholy pact with the spiders, or else doesn't recognize them as prey because they're too large and spider-shaped.
