It does too work in MP Jay. I've been running such a thing. See here.

Its been working fine for Twi, but you do what you want, Jay. That seems to work for you most of the time.

Yeah, so are we going to start basing our modpack off of TechnicMP, or keep using the base mods?

The old system (base mods) for the foreseeable future. Although the Technic Pack is great and all, I can see a few weird things in the most recent release. Nonetheless it's creating a new breed of mods designed to interact nicely with RP2/IC2/BC2 (EG: A mod that allows IC2 to power BC2 stuff and viceversa, although its RP2 compatibility is questionable), so it's going to bring us benefits even if we don't switch to it.

>mfw Technic Pack has the same contents as Jaycraft Combined Archive and then some.
A) Technic Pack introduces a punchton of bugs that aren't worthwhile
B) Technic Pack fucks with the IDs
C) Technic Pack does not work in MP

Jesus, mate, I was just noting that they have similar contents and then some. No need to get yer knickers in a twist.

Erm, I don't think you know what the phrase "and then some" means, then.
You're implying that the Technic Pack is better than what I'm doing.

"And then some" modified "contents". That is both good and bad. More contents = more shinies, but more breakage and further from vanilla balance.

Erm, no, I do in fact know what it means. In this context, I mean that the Technic Pack has Buildcraft and RedPower, as does the CA, but Technic has more stuff than the CA. More stuff doesn't necessarily mean better, just...more.

More mods means that it is slower and harder to keep up with the latest updates. A small, locally maintained, pack could easily use the latest versions within an hour of them being released, while a larger, more public pack is far more likely to wait a while, so that it can update many mods at once, and greatly reduce version compatibility problems for it's users (What if the server updates to a pack that is outdated two hours later, so most of the users who downloaded a later version without knowing it have issues connecting?

Also, I recommend the following two clientside mods:

I'm not saying we should or shouldn't use Technic Pack, just that, oh, hey, we're using some of the same stuff that it has.

You need some wooden half-blocks on the top center of the roof, for the tip.

or maybe fences, your choice.

Ack, I was pretty sure there were no wood halfblocks... I accidentally made a bunch of pressure plates.

Now to remove the regular blocks I used to cover that hole.
