I'm not too sure whether you're suggesting stationing Interceptors as airborne radars, but if you are, Skyrangers would work much better, because of their increased fuel capacity.

I wasn't, though using Skyrangers as AWACS is a damn good idea now you mention it. I was suggesting that you build three or four little bases with nothing but a Hyperwave Decoder, and maybe living quarters and stores for a token guard force, to extend your coverage and give you advance warning of an incoming UFO. Hawaii, the Cape Coast and Iceland are good places to build such installations.
